Kinda think of it...
Who wanna create slidepad?...meaning by using that small pad can mimic the finger movement on a laptop, will it replace the mouse?...sure no...but sure feels close to using the Metro more conveniently....seriously..no one has created one yet... I like the concept but i really miss the old news feed. Maybe not for some people, but for someone who loves reading, it's a big loss. News feed was big part of my session. Current news app doesn't offer much freedom and customization like the old one. I often mixed local and world news, politics, sports, etc. Maybe it's time to start familiarize myself with Opera news feed.
Also, Titan Chess and Solitaire. Where can i find something like this? This post has been edited by Angel of Deth: Nov 23 2012, 09:33 PM |

Im using both metro and desktop. Usually using desktop when im working coz need to use microsoft office such outlook and word.
i dont have touch screen lcd also, but i just bought logitech touch mouse T620 for win8. It just awesome to use the metro with this mouse, as easy and smooth as using a touch screen. Can open charm and multitask by swiping finger on the edge of the mouse and scrolling by swiping finger on the mouse same like touch screen gesture or tapping it to open desktop or go back to metro. Recommended. This post has been edited by calmshot: Nov 23 2012, 09:57 PM |

Almost desktop.
I only use metro to pin important things like website, contacts, reminders and etc and when using apps from Microsoft Store. Metro is more suitable with tablet when without mouse. |

I really cannot see why metro is a must for desktop user. It is as useless as Vista's flip 3D view.

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Nov 25 2012, 12:04 PM) Metro is best experience with touch screen, Microsoft reported W8 sales didnt hit the target & for obvious reason. They need to create more hybrid tablet for cheaper price. But atleast there is a desktop interface hence its a universal software for everybody. |

I have no problem with metro for tablet, and desktop is terrible for tablet.I sometime question what is going on with MS as of late. The really ridiculous part is for them to confuse consumer with Windows 8 RT. |

QUOTE(WhatMan @ Nov 25 2012, 01:23 PM) Windows should let us have options to choose which layout that is best for us. No doubt tiles is good for hybrid and phones but the instant its on dekstop mode. Its pretty annoying, but anyway i hv installed object dock to dock important icon as well as start8. |

Those saying that metro sucks, may i know if you're using only a mouse or at least with toucpad/touchmouse?
Reason is that i'm using a touchpad and metro works really well with it. I reckon that you'll be able to enjoy win8 with a toucpad/touchmouse and no need for a touchscreen, as i'm able to do swipe gestures/edge swipes/shortcuts etc with the toucpad. Though i do think that those with touchscreens will use metro more. Anyways, i'm using desktop 70% and metro 30%, just to put some statistics in there. |
