Yes. The carbon fiber is textured. You can feel it. Obviously to me it's stellar compared to glossy slippery surface which have the tendency to slip. And yes, it looks much better in real life. Just that my camera phone optics are rubbish.

It's a personal thing. grey body shells can blend along with the black carbon fiber. If you ask me. White carbon fiber should go well with your phone. For me it's just for the grippy feel and protection. Looks wise if you just stick the back panel it should look great

I think it not on majority unit. Mine is perfectly fine with some crappy screen protector. Heck sometimes i feel its a bit too sensitive. Yeah overstatement.
