I had DIYed an IKEA kitchen cabinet... less than RM3k. All it takes is some interest to build the kitchen yourself   and the rest are guided by IKEA DIY guide. Saved around RM1k of installation & assembling fees + gained lots of satisfaction

Hey mate, it took me about 5 weekends to complete, doing it leisurely on my own sweet time. I did made quite a few blunders in between (e.g. getting wall plugs from hardware, buying silicons, tools, etc.. ) and spent some time over it.

Ikea quoted me RM900 for the installation. It depends on the size of your kitchen and whether you require additional accessories installation (e.g. sink, oven, etc.) Can always check with their kitchen staff (need to make appointment probably 1/ 2 hours earlier) to get their advice.

Another thing i like about IKEA is their product return policy. After the installation, I found that some parts are not really necessary (e.g. too many cabinet door dampers & shelves)  and I just returned it (with original packaging) within 100 days and they refunded without asking any question.

For me I don't mind spend a little bit on these tools since i need it anyway when putting up mirrors, curtains, racks, pics, lightings etc. ...
Not cheap at all to get someone at Klang Valley area to put on some screws and nails on our wall

for a new house, is it worthwhile to DIY??? any comment?
