Hi all! I've been using IKEA kitchen for the past 4 years and I find one thing sorely lacking....the monopoly of a not-so-friendly company called CT Art for IKEA kitchen cabinets' installations. It seems only CT Art is able to cut the worktops and plinths and do the necessary fittings of sinks and cooking stoves. None of the outside contractors are willing or able to do it. So now...after 4 years, when I want to change the worktops and plinths due to wear and tear, I am stuck! CT Art charges MYR 80 per meter for worktop installation alone! A d it is even more expensive what they charge to cut the openings for the sinks and stove. Sigh...       

I am convinced that I want an IKEA kitchen, mainly because the blum drawers that come with Faktum are relatively cheaper then the what is priced by outside KC makers (some quote me RM1,000 for 1 set) and more importantly, because of the more generous depth, I get an extra 16% storage capacity.

However, I am still not making a decision because of the counter height.  The faktum skirting is standard at 16 cm, which would make the cabinet height at 90 cm which was too high for me.

I will have to track down the installer to see if they can help me with a 10 cm or 11 cm skirting.

Generally, I would say, if all you want to fit all your kitchen base cabinets with blum drawers, go for IKEA because they would offer a cheaper deal, even if you have to pay for the installation.
