I'm an official Almera owner now! biggrin.gif Got my car 2 days ago and happy with the performance and the impul skirt. But there is one annoying problem is the mufler. It tends to vibrate and sound 'grrr' and it is loud. As i found out in this post, seems like it is known problem for many Almera's owner. I called to the SC and they said the booking for this weekend is full and suggesting to me that I can and try to drop by the SC and let them do a quick check. If it is easy to be fixed, they can fix it for me.
For those who had the same problem as mine, may i know how long does the SC to fix this? The sound is so annoying and I don't think I can wait till next weekend to fix it.

Got my car last Tuesday and went for 1st full tank petrol refuel. It cost RM63.09 for 352KM, around RM0.18/KM. Think the FC will better after the first service. Also, went to SC to fix my exhaust sound and so far it is ok now. biggrin.gif

It sound like something is loose and vibrating at the muffler there and it is kinda annoying because you can actually hear while you are driving especially at low RPM.

My SA told me my new Almera does not need to wait until certain mileage then only can ramp it and go for highway drive. He said the more you ramp now the more powerful it will be. hmm.gif
What about you guys? I just took my car a week only. biggrin.gif

Huh? So at city drive, how fast i can ramp now before the 1st service? I went to a short distance highway drive just for once last week with average speed ~100km/h, will it hurt?

Today sent my car to fix all the rattling and sound issues...

1. Engine tune up as it is very thirsty
2. Fix door rattling in front and rear RH door... so far ok
3. Cit cit cit noise from behind... still there
4. Fix muffler
5. Fix rattling from boot
6. Askled them to chek my headlamp aiming as i find it a little weird but no chance to test it out yet...
7. Submit claim for cracked paint at the boot and black spots in the paint.... but SA say chances are will be rejected as he showed me another 2 more example same condition as mine and same colour too... cry.gif  cry.gif  cry.gif

Send the car in at 9am and only got it back at 3pm...

Now the car feels quiter but makes the cit cit cit sound more obvious.... dunno wan to send in back again a not... hmm.gif  hmm.gif  hmm.gif

What do you meant engine tune up? What color you get? Cracked paint didn't notice when pick up the car?

Is anyone installed the original 6' navigation with DVD audio player accessory? How is the sound quality and what format being supported with USB? I'm kinda regret now as I didn't install when I bought the car.

Just notice today, my Almera right side rear door sounds different when closing compare the rest of the 3 doors. The rest of the 3 doors sound good and solid when i close but the one, right side rear door sounds like bit hollow, like old car where the door rubber worn out.
Is anyone having the same problem?
Gonna complain to the SC as I'm going for first service this weekend.

Hey guys, just wondering if you guys face the same situation..

It's like, when you start your car and turn on the air conditioner, there's noise... but only for a while..
*
I've asked the SC person there about this sound, and they claim it is normal and it is because the air cond compressor kick in. I also notice this sound is slightly louder than other car and they said because Almera compressor is bigger than other car. biggrin.gif

I experience 2 times pump fuel at station man yo can't open the fuel door even tried to press few times. Quite nervous
*
My Almera also have this problem. There is a metal that push the fuel door when you pull the trigger and it does not have enough force to push the fuel door. Just bent the metal and it will be better. Of cause, you can go back to SC and ask them to fix it lo. They will do the same for you. biggrin.gif

Hi,  new Almera owner here..

Yesterday while driving in mid valley car park,  I realize got some sound from the exhaust, like a vibrating sound.

I realized the sound come when just moving at super low speed.. Like when I just press the gas pedal a bit.. Anyone experienced it?

Thanks!
*
Is it sound like the screw is loose vibration sound? If it is, that is known issue for Almera. Just go to SC and ask them to fix it. My Almera also got this issue before but now is ok after fixed in SC.
