what petrol do you use? i'm wondering whether the fuel brand (although i personally think is highly unlikely lah) has anything to do with it.

I always use aux from my phone. It's very good quality, considering my phone has beats audio. What I can say is the sound is better than radio.
*
ok... that's comforting. at least i know can use my S3 to play music and it won't sound too bad.... smile.gif

I usually play my iPod through it and all I can say is its considerably great, with large amount of bass compared to the radio. Turning up the volume to 16 and u will be able to notice that he side mirror is shaking  due to the bass smile.gif

the exhaust pipe noise most of the ppl also kena..quite common.

i kena exhaust pipe noise and dunno from where cit cit cit sound, i think is wind noise.
then the loud compressor kick in during cold start, guess this 1 kenot fix already.
another is sometimes the aircon become very hot a while when i stop or reverse, then back to normal
*
wah... now reading all the issues with the car.... sweat.gif

Any idea where to get this and how much it cost?
*
there were a few guys selling it in here but all sold already. if you look online and buy from international sites like ebay and amazon, can get around RM2xx with shipping:

Gone thru 1st service yesterday, RM90.
Asked to fix the exhaust noise. Now fix'ed, didn't hear it for 2 days..need more time to monitor if it will come back or not.

Aircon if need to check need to arrange separate time, the aircon guy not here. The loud compressor noise dun think can fix. And when the car go reverse and naik bukit, the aircon power will be cut lower, u will feel the aircon not as cold when reverse.

The cit cit cit wind noise also need to arrange another time to check again but it still there in my car.

And my side skirting at front part easily scratch and chipped.
*
thanks for the information bro... i just got my new grey unit yesterday, and unfortunately, got the exhaust vibration sound. sure enough, the SA told me that it's due to the screw at the back, but he said that one just get it fixed during service.... so i'll have to live with that sound for a bit.

thankfully no other sounds detected for now, and for a guy used to driving myvi, the smoothness and quietness of the almera is really quite amazing... enjoyed the drive all the way back from showroom to home... smile.gif

anyways, anyone can recommend a good place to service car in PJ? i know there's a huge SC in PJ, but apparently that's always super full sampai must make appointment and all...

not sure what car u drive before this
but almera is really not suitable for spirited driving.
it got huge body and tiny engine
enough for daily commute
if u keep flooring the pedal, ur FC only will get worst
*
thanks for the information. back to the original question that was being asked though, does the almera perform that badly when going uphill?

QUOTE
For hill climbing, i tried 2 nd gear and also D with OD off. Unfortunately no diff. It normally tooks me 45mins from house to peak of genting. With almera its nearly 1.5 hour.

has anyone tested the almera going to genting or camerons aside from taiping boy?

Guys, for your information, almera is using conventional 4AT with torque converter, not CVT smile.gif . Ok, back to the question about genting uphill, yes, bear with it and accept the fact that it isn't suitable for stiff uphill, ok? It's quite good on the FC though, Taiping Boy, you might want to try to be gentle with your right foot to get the best FC out of it. I had driven a 5MT almera to genting and had trouble racing against a Toyota Hiace unless I revved it hard at 2nd gear.
*
hhmmm... that's kinda disturbing to be honest. knowing that the car wasn't build for speed is fine, but if naik bukit also got problem, how to take my family up to genting or camerons? sad.gif

i sure hope so.. the feedback i'm reading about almera's hill climbing abilities seem to suggest that cycling up genting would be faster....

haha... BHP is my second choice after Caltex.. but remember to fill ur petrol at reputable gas station since some that near ceruk kampung station rather use oem petrol without fuel additives formula.
*
how to know whether the gas station is reputable or not leh? my dad was telling me horror story that his mechanic told him that some stations add water into the petrol (dunno whether true or not)....
