I am in dilemma considering between Almera VL & Preve CFE. Any suggestion and pros & cons? Any feedback will be very much appreciate.

I had test drive both and my findings.

Preve
- Power
- Stability
- Functionality

Almera
- Reliability
- Low Fuel Consumption
- Comfort

How great if can combine both.

Why still support proton when they are the root cause of us paying so much for non Malaysian cars all these years...

Really not keen on Proton cars anymore.
Used to own a Iswara years ago. During a year of ownership, there were a few times had to change broken door handles, power window "gun", and one time the speedometer seized to work.
My current ride is a Hyundai Accent (previous model). Although their quality is not on par with the Japs, but the door handles only broke after more than 7 years. Never have any problem with the speedometer yet.
I know the quality of latest Proton car models has improved, but still not keen on them. shakehead.gif

Ask them not to cheating themselves. If really cannot compete in global market, just close shop. Dont burden us with selling us expensive car. And then indirectly benefits some xxx parties....

Dont just look at the car. You also need to consider about their after sale service. Dont get TL later even you get good car but very bad service. Remember you have to go back to do service time to time. You need to do survey by yourself I cannot comment much here. Because it has been 8 or 9 yrs I didnt go back to proton SC.

My experience 8 yrs ago, I sent for minor service, they charged me normal mineral engine oil rm50 and labour charge rm90. I asked them why, they told me they do many many inspections. But they only spend 1 hour to complete minor service. This is my personal opinion. you need to survey. It was my cheap Iswara car but they can charge unreasonable.

When came to major service, they charged me rm600 for my iswara.... rclxub.gif

Bro, i want to know about your opinion on the car. How is the performance of the car? Since its a 4 gear only, does it affects the ability to climb the hill? Planning to go for the car. Which type did u choose? E or VL? did u add any body kits?

hi Bro,
overall up hill compare to other 1.5L i think almera cant fulfill your desire...but city drive was okay....no affects on up hill so far haven try to go Genting...buy my house area too many up hill...i bought VL no BK,no Navi And add On acc...oli side indicator which cost 300 oli....if u looking for 1.5 L car with higher performance compare to almera i may say Almera not suit u..cuz VIOS n Mazda 2 touque is higher then almera and House power too....Almera oli offer u comfort, big cabin, quiet engine and lighter Power steering if u noticed..u drove VIOS,City,Persona and Mazda 2....i oli can say....how much u pay how much u get...so far i happy with the FC if u measure Almera Size n FC......FYI Almera is the biggest car size in B segment in Malaysia

Indeed, if bro look for higher performance car, almera is not suitable,
Nissan car normally offer a comfort and quiet engine ..Almera is more suitable use for city drive especially if u stay in car longer daily.

I not so agree. Not Proton problems. Just That Timbang use Proton as an excuse to earn more by raising foreigner car tax.

I not keen Proton also. But after test drive, Preve CFE is totally different than the normal car on the road. If u wan to know the different, go have a test drive cause it is free anyway. After 9 months Preve in the market, i did some research for common problem on Preve. Just found few problems that happen in this model and it is solve in newer the batch. This is why i am considering Preve. No doubt Almera had the most reliability after all.

lol no doubt older proton model is problematic car. But it is really getting better for newer version.

Agree too. Just the performance that drove me away. If the performance can match a mitsu engine waja, no doubt i will go for it. I just felt that the Almera performance is sluggish when i floor the pedal.

Well, as I said earlier, it depends on your preference. If you want performance, then choose Preve CFE. And vice versa, if you want comfort and reliability, then choose Almera. icon_rolleyes.gif
