Share some happiness, tai kor, sifu and sisters here. Did anyone here managed a ride today?
Care to share your adventure here, our friend here broke his bicycle headlight, not so serious la and minimal damange to the pocket onli.
Anyone, managed to bend his aluminum or dent their carbon? he he.. Hope not! biggrin.gif
I'm wasting away in a wedding buffet dinner, food is not even decent, and it's only the desert and ice cream tat is up to scratch. Pity me!
So no ride again for me today, and continue to grossly under use my bike. doh.gif

Ok, good da morning? Question from a noob?

My statistic.
Clocked 200+ km on my bike. Over 1 yr period. Rain no ride, storm coming out no ride, windy no ride, no chicks-got ride la, and Tonto/ Silver is my trusted frens.

I have a 11:25 and 39: 53 configuration.

I got a simple cateye wireless meter, tat shows top speed, avg. Speed and distance and odo type, wish Ah Wong at unker's place can skinned my pocket then for the type with cadence n gradient one.
Interested to know the level I am at present, and to make progress or up to speed in joining group rides in the hopeful future.

Thank you for the speed and cadence chart, I can now tell that my average comfortable cadence is 60 rpm base on my hilly climb on my lowest gear @ 11kmh.
I start off with abt 50 rpm so a slight improvement over the months brows.gif
So wats next for me with regard to cadence, sifu here? Endurance is another story la. icon_question.gif

I want to set out for some steep slope to test my limit, but no gradient meter, no telling if I will be equip for Wan Teng Sampah one fine day. thumbup.gif

QUOTE(butthead @ Nov 26 2012, 01:28 PM)
2 circumstances...

one is to let you know what sort of steepness you just passed so that you can judge what is in front from visual perception...

the other is some situations where you are riding on false flats... and you somehow think you are on level roads based on visual perception which can sometimes play havoc when you are riding through lots of rolling hills and you find yourself taking lots of effort to ride or increase speed... the gradient lets you know that you are either inclining or running on flat lands...

sort of like the speed pace arrow.. just for altimeter...
can't really remembered... but i think federal one of the motor lane entry points on the PJ interchanges have it...not very sure... but i am quite sure i've seen it before...
*
I like to be on top of the 2 circumstances. What will be the ideal brand and model to get?
What should be my immediate ideal cadence to to aim for? biggrin.gif

I prefer to mount on the front bonet, that is if possible.
Belakang- scared kiss from behind, a minor one will endup with considerable damage.
On top-scared of clearance, tree branches la, smart tag lane cause of involuntary steering action.
For me, just lump it on my vehicle back seats. You dun want to hang your loves one outside and on top right because too dengerous... Just to confuse you a bit, welcome newbie thumbup.gif

anything that tickles your fancy will do lar... miao already taruh his poison mar... if you have to balls to go further.. get the color version edge 800...

what to consider with your cateye... not like it can be upgrade by plugging in extra modules....find some water fish and see it away while it is still worth dua kupang...
that lower left hand screen is going to land him into an RM7k debt...just pretend never saw that screen..
even if you are not worried about safety.. i still doubt if you have enough strength to tighten the pedal compared to a pedal wrench...and you didn't grease the threads... bring it back to shop and ask them to grease and reinstall it for you...
*
Thank you Miao and Butt Kor, when buying, we pay in gold, worth 2 grams, now to push to the waterfish, worth 2 kupang = 20 quids? I think my cateye will go to my museum or on my spare bike.

I remember reading, it cost a nucleur bomb for the Power watt reading, abunden I saw top salesman brows.gif with the screenshots, I was ..eh rclxub.gif this not suppose to happen, rite! Anyway is it the "Edge 500"? Veli important must have gradient reading ho?

Maybe I have to live with bread and air koson for the rest of the month to ge it.

Monsieur Butt, Edge 500 or 800, don't think they will do it for me, because you make more sense than the stupid computer, and clever salesman- i don't mean Miaopurr kor. Since I am not into competition, all the data in the world will not make me a stronger rider (just me).

Must get my ass on the bike and feel like the Polkadot holder of my fief(Sri D'sara). So far no challenger in sight, for my self proclaimed title whistling.gif

With the money of a e500, I can buy 50 pitch reader from the hardware store and attached the lever to my top tube. rclxms.gif

Btw, what is your steepest inclination that you have done so far in terms of gradient % on a 25/39 cogs?
Or your max out threshold?

Monsieur Butt, I like the little baby Sky Mounti, instantaneous reading. It does not take up space la, it just a little bugger like an oversize ring only.
You shold get one too, and let's organize a group buy, ok?
Technology from Germany too, worth it, sup sup sui.

Just use it for reconnaissance ride only. The rest of the time wear it on your middle finger, pointing up!

Buying a bicycle for commuting to LRT station daily, any bicycle will do as long as it is within your budget, especially if you are going to park it at your own risk. You need a sturdy lock and big chain to secured it from getting stolen. Still, there are chances that your baby will not be waiting for you when you come to fletch her on your return.
We will never leave our bike unattended to, not even for a second esp. the expansive ones, as many will testify to it that it will dent our pockets.

Our residential sifu here may recommends something for you. Cheers! biggrin.gif

If you are my size 40.5, then can let you try my Sidi E2 for comfort and performance, let you fall in love it la. But really! We are fren fern ma and can get free review from you some more.
And if you like it, try to poison you, brows.gif take it off me please but on condition I that i can lay my hands on a pair Sidi Wire with twin cabling system. No more those flipping velcro strap.

But now is all talk only, unless your foot can do a contortion act. Anyway, I like Sidi for it looks, a slim last, practicality of the cabling system and carbon lite performance. rclxms.gif
To cap it off, I am rather fortunate to go Carbon straight away and there is no turning back now.tongue.gif tks to our unker- top salesman.
