Lol so funny! Is is so yesteryear? I mean c'mon, I tried to make do within budget maa I'm not going to splurge lots of money on a bike. I'm looking at rm20k for my climbing machine project tongue.gif

Vinann: I don't want to give you the joy of smoking my dream machine tongue.gif so I give you the win every time you want to challenge me. Lol

20k for one time spent and be happy for the rest of my life lor. No need buy bits and pieces till the end of my life for bike upgrades. After spending such amount I only need to buy tubes or tyres in the future..

10k for Sworks frame
6.5k for Groupset
Balance is for handlebar, stem, seatpost.

20k should be ok not? Or is there any better deals like a complete bike with that price? Not my dream bike perhaps if there is any..

finally! I always have a thought that the SKy team is doping at the Tour!

Perhaps Cav's move to Omega Pharma could be because he didnt like the doping scene in Sky. He seems pretty much happy in OP though..

ey, rather than buying expensive bikes, why don't we all go for a ride in Stelvio, etc.

Vin ann must follow us, he'll be the strongest domestique for our train. tongue.gif

i heard about louis garneau..lots of female riders here are wearing their cycling jersey from that brand..

Apparently not only Contador were here. Tony Martin, Nibali, and Hyesjadal were here to officiate the track and the next year stage race. This city want to be the best as there are already Tour of Cyprus, Qatar, Turkey, etc. There will be Tour of Dubai next year. rclxms.gif

As the event was by invitation only, I managed to see one live cast where Tony Martin sprinting vs a race horse where he got his ass kiced big time tongue.gif

Contador won the 3 men sprint againts NIbali and Hysjedal though..he looks pretty fit!

Mac wai: any cycling products review and critics should be directed to our resident troller aka butthead. Despite his epic trolling he somehow has the vast knowledge in cycling stuffs.

I'd go with 404 FC anytime over any other deep carbon wheels available in the market..but only if I ride flat and in a rolling terrain.

I wouldn't descend hard using a carbon clincher though, side gusty wind and sidewall burst due to heating problem will make me resort to my Racing Zero for any climbing terrain for the peace of mind.

There are many brands available, but I have made up my mind to go for Zipps' line up.

The rsys slr CC is around 1300grams..perfect for climbing purposes, but then again we casual roadies is not about climbing to win races as we must have to descend after that. I'd take my FR0 anytime, and for an extra 200grams I can descend with a peace of mind tongue.gif

Vinann..32T for sure can ride la, easy feat but it'll be a slow ride..you climbed gap-Fraser before right? Is it on the same gradient level?

I'm on 23T now and on a rolling terrain it's pretty much bearable flex.gif not going to use it on a long climb though..

Just realized that 40kmh avg speed is achievable with the ladies on my previous coffee ride..a blow to all guys who can't maintain that speed..and it's from the group of 6 people only..I don't know but I guess the speed will be much higher in Msia since not much of a gusty desert wind...

That's y I need a zipp 404 FC tongue.gif

They are practicing with a local groups in the light blue jerseys and the team members mentioning that 5 of them race fit riders has to take a 2 minutes turn each to be able to follow Tony Martin pace.

Pros are in different league than us mortal tongue.gif

Very thin seat stay! Is it a climbing machine? The r5? The s5 is fugly IF your height is nowhere around those tall mat saleh as your seat post height going to be low and s5 is known for its ugliness..at least to my eyes tongue.gif unless it is as shown in the picture posted by butthead then that one is pretty.

I'm so gonna get the edge 810!! . My friend bought an edge 500, 2 weeks ago..pity him

R5 is a climbing rig while the S5 is their aero armada...

The S5 is actually quite pretty is real life... i've seen a VWD before at bikehous... and the R5 also has very big sizes like 54, and 56cm... it looks equally as strange as the S5 in those sizes...tall head tube and big sized frame...

look at hyjedals bike...size 56 if i am not wrong for his height that is well over 180cm....i don't think it's the frame size playing with how the bike looks like.. but rather, the huge amounts of bar drop he can tolerate... huge bar drop makes a bike look sexy...

this looks to be a smaller size by the look of the head tube length.. bar drop, i'd say more or less the same as our own bikes...

Holy moly that is some sweet stealthy black bike! Black is the new white thumbup.gif

S5 here is priced at 15k Aed, roughly around rm12k..

Mavic rsys slr is an alloy clincher right? Damn lighter than my FR0..... shocking.gif

Butthead, don't tempt me with the s5...it's fugly. Period. Lol.

Get the latest garmin unit, can do live tracking so your loved ones can see where you at during your ride, it's a real time updates in 30 secs of batch data.

I've had bad issues with sigma, the intermittent connection..trust me these computer gadgets is becoming more like a smart phone nowadays. Honestly I just need an odometer, speedometer, and HR.

But yes I need one of the Garmins, especially for logging and using it for my indoor workout on my trainer.

Woah! What bike is that bro? Looks classic and yet a beauty..

Anyway, between a wheel or frame upgrades which one will have the most significant feeling in terms of everything? Ride feeling especially.

don't know what bike is that.. but it sure looks pretty...

what sort of ride feeling?? comfort, power transfer?

if say, you are already at a mid level carbon frame... 100 dollar question is whether you can feel the additional BB or general frame torsional stiffness of a better and more expensive...

on the other hand, a wheel upgrade can be say for instance your FR0 to a set of 202 carbon clinchers... which should see minor punchier accelerations and stuff like tat...if you have a Shimano RS-10 and upgrade to 202, of course it'll feel like heaven and hell...

it's all about how big a gap you are trying to close... if you have a bigger gap, the more you feel or in my words.. the easier you notice the difference...
*
Indeed. So what do you say, with my carbon Merida would it be less meaningful to upgrade to a higher end frame? Perhaps it will feel lighter on a steep climb but that would be on a climbing aspect.

I'm not sure about it though but I assume getting an aero bike can actually saves a few watts here and there.

To my eyes it's fugly but after some calculation, for not so many differences of cash I can get an S5 equipped with Ultegra groupset..

Putting wind as a constant factor, can aero frame be more beneficial upgrade than a set of 404 FC?

QUOTE(sunghajung11 @ Jan 11 2013, 09:43 PM)
upgrading wheels ve significant difference?
currently using merida road bike race lite 903 tat costs 2.3k
thinking whether to upgrade from sora groupset to sram apex down the road.
also wanna change to fulcrum rzcing 3 wheels.
the upgrades will cost double the bike price now . what do u guys think?
worth it?
*
IMO you can feel the difference quite a bit especially on the shifting mechanism and feel, and a it of stiffer wheel will helps in your overall bike stiffness.

Thx. With that classic look I first thought it is a Cinelli.

Hurm. Ok I need time to digest your replies before concluding. It's ok for each and everyone of us if we ride just to 'ride' from point A to point B. I do that sometimes but you know there's a feeling inside to be a little bit faster, lighter, yada yada yada wink.gif

Ok then. I guess I should stick back to my 5 years cycling roadmap!

P/S: Rapha on sales!
