vestamp is amp only.. vestamp+ is with a dual wolfson WM8740 DAC, not sure in mono or parallel configuration..

and yes, i think there is some that is without the + imprint if you look at the Jaben indo site and it has the 24bit/192khz on the case.


but, there is 2 version available in Jaben malaysia

that you have to ask walabies or yuheng yourself... they won't be selling you something that isn't what is stated...

as far as i know from the outlook of it.. .the version without a DAC only writes

and no third line at the bottom indicating the capabilities of the DAC upsampling...

and yes, from google... it does seem that there is a batch that is written as vestamp on both with and without DAC.


just check with them when you buy.... the price is definitely quite a margin between both and the the non-DAC version will not function as a soundcard when connected to a PC via USB...

which is why you should get from a known source... the wording would not be easy to fake on a non-DAC version i suppose...

or you can just bring along your laptop to verify by plugging it in...else, you are at the mercy of the seller if he intends to con you...

That's the risk of operating a business.

You can't prevent it from happening as that is how they operate the business. Jaben can enforce a strict no testing policy but that will treat real potential jaben buyers unfairly just because of this minority of scrooges.

Neither can they say no to particular people if they think they are just there to screw around, or they will be accused of being biased.

So, they just take it in their stride for the sake of the "authentic" jaben customers. This is what you should be appreciative for.

if you look at it from both perspective...

jaben has to risk wasting their own time on people who goes up with ulterior motives, but yet they have to do it because that is part of their business model

while a 2nd hand seller might not have the obligation to provide audition services and i believe if you are a 2nd hand seller yourself, you yourself would also not want to waste your time and money traveling to somewhere just to meet a person who only have a 50% chance of following through with the deal right?

then of course comes the buyer who is expected to be given everything... haha...

you can never be fair to both sides.. it either benefits the seller or it benefits the buyer...

or prior customers who auditioned the IEMs and earphones killed it with maximum volume playback...
