Looking to grow my savings. Has anyone used Hong Leong's Pay&Save account? Leaning towards opening an account there. The interest rate looks ok compared to other banks. Now got promo also. Maybe i can get a new phone also while im at it.

Can a bank close a customer's deposit account without providing any reason? Anyone experienced this before? I have been informed that the bank would like to close all my deposit accounts and asked to go to branch to facilitate that. If I do not act within a certain time frame, my accounts would be automatically closed. When I asked why, I was told they don't really know the reason as it was HQ's order. Can the bank really do that? This is so unfair.

I just opened a new free basic saving account at bsn a month ago. The staff knew about it but keep persuading me to open normal account instead when i explicitly and firmly said the free basic saving account is what i want. Probably because it doesn't make them money from the yearly fee. The monthly 4x free atm usages and 4x free counter visits is more than enough for me, no need to waste paying yearly fee for unlimited atm and counter visit which I won't even utilize.

Visited the branch again last week to request for my account statement and this time the (different) staff is clueless about the basic saving account. Shes confused and said I don't even have an account with them. Probably the menu for the basic saving account is buried deep within their system lol

She asked me for my ic and scanned it before looking confused and saying I don't even have an account there. Then she asked for my debit card, scanned it and finally be able to find the correct account in their system. The previous staff which helped me opened the account were also having trouble, asked back and fourth with his colleagues a few times about some "code" before he finally able to open the account for me. Basic saving account aren't really a well known thing even for bank staff.

First in Malaysia? I have seen this tablet at hong leong bank early 2020. HLB staff using this to open account for me. Was told they are the first using it at that time.   

i can't remember from which thread,...just recently a forummer posted that a bank advertised remote opening, but end ups he need to go there personally to have his particular verified before he will receive a PW for opening and also need to go there again to confirm account opened

Too leceh.. sent me message for pre-approved and asked me go branch and verify.  Then tell me to come again if you get approved.

It doesn't serve the purpose with online application and still need to go there for twice.

There are still a lot of better opportunities and why would I go for you
