I received the same email. Not sure if want to bother with BNM - haven't used this account since I cancelled my cards with them anyway. But it is quite shady to just close user's accounts, even when it is being used (in and out).

true. save my troubles of going to close them. i have 1 bsa, 1 privilege sa and 2 jumpstarts. lol

I currently own JumpStart Saving Account-i. Suddenly today received email from StdChart that "As part of our ongoing account maintenance review, we wish to inform you that your Current or Savings account (CASA) maintained with Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad ("SCBMB") and Standard Chartered Saadiq Berhad (“SCSB”) has remained below the required minimum balance of MYR5,000 for six (6) consecutive months. In line with our account maintenance requirements, the account will therefore be scheduled for closure after 30 days from the date of this communication."

Called bank to ask and was told this is latest update by their management. They can't do anything and the policy apply to all accounts open under SC despite previously no min amount to maintain condition.

Any good senior savings/current account to recommend? For seniors account, is it for those age 50/55/60?

SC from complaint department called me yesterday afternoon. She told me quite a number of customers complaint after yesterday email. I raised my concern that no update on website or whichever email from SC about minumum balance on JumpStart Saving Account-i since I opened in 2024 and maintained it at low balance and only use whenever I was oversea only. She said this is new implementation from top management. If want to continue with any SC savings account must maintain min balance of RM5k. She would raise my concern to their management but likely would still need to stick to this new policy. 

they did a reverse on this apparently hahaha

Stay remain for the condition to maintain RM5k min for JumpStart Savings Account-i.

i did not receive any emails from the start though.
