We gather here n at tt as friends and not cause of the car alone... but about anything under the sun or interest that fancy some of us... this is why we still talk abt oil 2 yrs on cause we did not focus n remember things on the car alone unlike some fanatic club/group. Also cause we have newbies joining us, thus asking same questions but we are never tired to answer them (or refer them back to page 1).

So when ppl asked, how we manage to still stay active, have activities and weekly tt despite not being a club or lead by someone... What should we answer them ah?

Treat ur cvt belt with care... its after all a rubberband. You can use paddle shifts but try do not use it for 'engine braking'.. if wheel spinning faster than engine, the rubberband will suddenly stretch... There is a protection built in if case you accidentally try to downshift to a very low gear when crusing at high speed, it will emit a warning beep and will not downshift.

Vice versa if u try to turbo charge ur engine, a sudden boost of torque from the engine will snap the belt (like what u see in the pic, the one in that container is the belt and its metal cuffs). Our local 'racing' workshop has blown at least 2 cvt gb in their quest to turbo charge a 2.0cvt. Latest I hear is someone still trying to install a very low boost turbo (but whats the point?).

ckk, the sound if only appear if kena water is quite likely the bushing grease mixed with water will create such metal to metal sound like what some others suggest. Its like that notorious waja link that squeeks when it fails.

U changing to upmarket abs jor... dun waste time at sc...

Cvt gb - refrain downshifting to reduce car speed, be it using paddle or gear knob. The brake pads are way cheaper than replacing a snapped cvt belt. Even for mt, u r still wearing out clutch plate but not at an alarming rate.

Engine brake means engage lower gear to slow down car ie going downhill where u dun press accelerator.. Engaging lower gear to take corners or spirited drive is different. You are pressing accelerator, thus engine n wheel speed is still high..

I think if ur car leak little bit oil, u may not know... but got vents for oil to seep thru if the leak is so bad... but I'm more worried abt msian roads 'surprises' hitting my cvt gb or engine oil pan...
