The screen resolution would be 800*480.

Google apps run smoothly. fast too. whatsapp etc runs well. GPS is good too. Locked on in 8 seconds or so. may be faster than 8s

All google apps that I have used run smoothly. GPS locks on in a maximum of 9 seconds. Usually less. The screen resolution is 800X480.

Thanks everyone. Btw, is there any problems in updating installed apps? Can stock apps like FB be updated as well?

Yes, all the stock apps can be updated.

Thanks and I have finally decided to get this phone. Do you guys know where's the cheapest place I can get 1. Is there any other covers available apart from the CSL cover?

Thanks

Yes, there is a noticeable difference. You can actually see the difference when your scroll between your homescreens on the Stealth and the Mercury. Most games run faster on the Mi501, and the transition when you open up apps is a lot more smoother on the Mercury. Also, this is my Mi501 quadrant score.

[attachmentid=3177577]

Also, the Antutu score seems to have skyrocketed somehow.

[attachmentid=3177610]

So I think the Mercury dominates the Stealth, except in  camera.

I was hoping that some1 will compare both of this phone since its has very similar specs and price. Can some1 provide a more detailed comparison.

Also, Is the guy from Lelong really secure? Wanted to buy from him but haven't decided yet. I do agree that his option is the cheapest.

Thanks.

The guy from lelong is secure. There is a comparison by Syncomp on page 14 of the android phone recommendation thread v6. There actually is no need for benchmark comparisons because the Mi501 is far more superior in the CPU department and GPU department.
*
Thanks for the tips. A good enough comparison though I was hoping a comparison with Stealth 2. Anyway thanks for your tips.

Against the Stealth 2, the CSL has an edge in the price and CPU department, while the Stealth 2 wins in the camera department.

Thanks again cranky guy.

This phone was offered for RM799 and yeah I was impressed with the RAM too and the phone does look good.

The Hero H9500/ Zopo Zp900 is a magnificent phone. Only a few problems.

1. Speaker is not loud enough.
2 . GPS is not really good.
3 Camera's flash results in washed out pictures.
4. Warranty is hard to claim.
5. Screen cracks and scratches easily.
6. Dual sim is kind of buggy.

But other than that, it's an awesome buy. Against the Mercury, it is about the same situation as Ninetology Stealth 2 vs Mercury. Mercury smacks it in all the benchmarks, but Hero has better camera and and better multitasking. Interestingly, the Mercury has better battery life than the Hero, although Hero's battery is larger.

I'm all set to buy this phone. I have found a shop at the Axis Atrium Pandan Indah offering it for 699 with 8gb memory card..not sure if its a good deal.

Btw, I have been using my devices on wife before this and it will be the same for the CSL too. How is the wifi performance of this phone. I heard that the wifi spec for this phone is different compared to the other mainstream phones. Please advise.

RM699 w/ 8GB got pouch or not? If got pouch, then it is a pretty good deal, if no pouch, it is an OK deal.

The wifi on Switch Mercury is b/g, which is supposed to be weaker than b/g/n, but according to user reviews and personal experience, the Wifi is just as good as on most high spec devices.
*
Oops..i forgot to ask bout the pouch part but honestly, i will never use a pouch hehe.. So the wifi is fine..hmmm..

Thanks as usual cranky guy!

Hi leeandy! I haven't seen you in a while.

True, even I don't use the pouch a lot. Plus, the back cover is fingerprint proof, so no reason to get one anyway. Although a silicon case would be nice.

Added on December 15, 2012, 2:37 amJust wanted to ask you guys something. Do you prefer phones with 8-32 GB internal storage but no MicroSD or phones that support MicroSD cards? Because now more and more phones have no MicroSD card slots, and I wondered if I was the only one who disliked this.
*
That's right..would be nice if we can customize the exterior for a bit. Btw, does the phone support A2DP? I'm pretty sure it does right?

The shop at Axis Atrium is out of stock doh.gif
She's asking me to wait until end of the month cry.gif . So much of demand..

I definitely prefer MicroSD slots..hands down.. icon_rolleyes.gif

That could actually be true. I read some time back that JB will run optimally with 1gb RAM. I may be wrong. Anyone out there aware of any other phones that is running JB with less than 1gb ram?

Cranky, still waiting for the pics tongue.gif

Hey Cranky thanks for the tips but according to the official facebook page of the Star S1, they seem to offer 1 year warranty just like CSL. Moreover the battery is stated as 2800mAh battery. All the other specs also seem to be better that Mi501.

Yeah it does look like a knock-off but don't you think it sounds like a better deal altogether compared with this.

Hi,

I seriously have some issues with delivery due to some bad experiences. Where can I get this at KL for the best price?

The shops listed on the website seems to be pricier.
