I am a proud owner of the Mercury. Everything is great EXCEPT the part where you go into CONTACTS. I tried navigating through my contacts and the screen is like "stuck" a bit then only move. I occasionally click on the contacts I don't want to search for. Anyone else who has this issue or I am alone?

QUOTE(Rudd @ Jan 8 2013, 05:13 AM) For the price of RM600+, I think the Mercury is a fabulous buy, what more with dual-sim and ICS (and possible Jellybean upgrade). Due to stock issue for the Mercury, I was considering buying either the Xperia P or Motorola Atrix 2. Battery issues are dominating the Xperias. As for the Atrix, the salesperson told me it's stock Gingerbread and that I gotta do the upgrade to ICS myself. Although the RM799 price tag wasn't much of an issue, I believe the commission the salesperson gets from the likes of Samsung S3 or Note is much higher. Back to the Mercury, I feel the font is very "China phone" type and Cranky Guy helpfully replied that I should try rooting my phone and then change the fonts. The 512MB ram also underpowers the phone. But on the overall - it's a fantastic phone. If Samsung were to take the Mercury and call it Samsung Mote, I think people will start queuing up for it. It's all about perception. |

QUOTE(cphilip @ Jan 14 2013, 10:41 AM) sorry to ask. maybe, already asked before but i am very interested to know how is the battery compared to ninetology stealth?. when wifi is switched off and the screen is off but not complete power off, how long can battery last? in other words, do you experience too much battery drain when not using the phone? Battery life is superb. Even when connected to Wifi (starting at 9:00am), I still get 50% at night (about 8:00pm).thanks |

QUOTE(SamD @ Jan 14 2013, 10:13 AM) Hi all, Actually this SIM1 & SIM2 thingy is quite confusing. Recently I gave my CSL mi400 to my gf. She inserted two SIMs. Everytime she tries to make a call using SIM2, the call would automatically dial out from SIM1. I'm considering this phone because of its dual SIM capability. However, looking at the spec it says 'Dual Standby'. For those already owning it, please can you confirm whether it's active-active i.e. if someone calls you on SIM1, would you be able to receive call on SIM2? Thanks. After 1 week of using Mercury, all I can say that it's GREAT VALUE! Comparable to S2 but I donno if this happens to the rest of you Mercury owners - when I use the web browser, it sometimes closes by itself. This happens quite frequently. Also, the 512 RAM is another issue. |

Honestly, nearly every darned appliance is China made. Like some of you, I have no qualms with China made phones. A phone is a phone to me, as long as it can make calls with clarity and send SMS. A smartphone with other apps is a bonus.
As with the Mercury - after rooting it (yes I rooted it finally!), it's faster and has more available RAM. I also changed the fonts to a more designer typeface. Honestly, if you ask me, my old CSL Switch Planet mi400 and my current Mercury performs way better than the Sony Xperia. The battery for the Xperia sucks big time BUT the CSLs - they are fantastic! Hopefully the next lineup of CSL phones will have more RAM. |

QUOTE(sglalang @ Jan 22 2013, 04:41 PM) Moved Opera Mini browser to SD card. Tried to remove VIKI but couldn't find it in the superuse list. Not sure if I should remove other useless apps like maps and location. Any advice from the rooting experts out there? Before rooting, remaining RAM = 65MB. After rooting, total remaining RAM = 185MB. That's a significant gain! |

QUOTE(Rudd @ Jan 23 2013, 04:41 PM) pouch for mercury, anyone? My pouch is different. It's light beige in front instead of chocolate. Any protective casing I can buy outside? Can't seem to find one everywhere I go. The pouch is not ideal for men. Way too big to fit into jeans front pocket!» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « http://store.s-csl.my/collections/accessor...i501-brown-case |

QUOTE(Cranky guy @ Jan 26 2013, 12:51 PM) Bro, I have rooted my phone. Which are the apps that are advisable to delete? So far I have deleted Viki but don't dare to delete Latitude and Navigation in case it causes problems later on. Need your advice. Thanks! |
