Based on Overlord, from the Masterforce series

@jhcj - i think nova lord should be based on destron's Overlord character from Masterforce series. made his appearance in IDW Comics Last Stand of the Wreckers as well..Overlord consist of combination of 1 jet + 1 tank...
Funny think is i never ever saw a jet harrier mode of him, only thing i remember is his base mode.
One of my fav character, hopefully BTS can re-image him to be the best Overlord..Although I still love the original version and hoping for a re-release

u can anytime buy them and spray the whole thing back to plain grey, easy spray cos no need masking

btw, is it only me who think that tank alike thing design copied from FOC Brawl?

ah i see...no wonder i'm not familiar...my knowledge is more towards G1 lol

i maybe wrong, but i think Masterforce series are considered Generation One as well...its a continuity from the American G1 that we know

ok then i clarify...i'm more familiar with the american G1 story

my japanese transformers knowledge is patchy at best :s

The series was before the 90s and was released on 1988, just 1 year after the end for the US run Transformers series at 1987. And it was still in the G1 era

original series name is called Transformers: Super-God Masterforce

The series include characters from the Pretenders, Junior Headmasters, Powermasters brothers of Dreadwing and Darkwing, brought along with the Seacons/Piranacon

It was first aired in RTM 1 at 10:00 AM on Sundays, and was dubbed in English. I used to watch this and finished the entire season (and the Star Saber series continues from there where Optimus gets killed...again...then turned into the mute Victory Leo)

ya, i also thought the same.. spot on,including the rifle in between the tank cannons..

I recall bits and pieces from what you said only. I never really followed the japanese story closely as a kid. Donno why...lol

they're swaying too much aesthetically from the G1 overlord they're paying homage to its almost unnoticable.

it's a tiny replica of megatron that comes with the MP Soundwave. it's non-transformable though
