QUOTE(benny888 @ Nov 19 2012, 02:54 PM) Try reinstall phone USB drivers n make sure when you connect phone kies is not running n all anti virus is shutdown Okay, there's two modes right with different driver? one when the phone is normal standby mode and another is when in download mode. Need to uninstall and install back both? because the download mode one its really a hassle to download and install because of the stupid windows but i somehow manage to do it anyways. I wonder if this the source of the problem?

QUOTE(JC_jun @ Nov 19 2012, 08:17 PM) yeah, this really hard to tell. You check at XDA, there are also a lot of forumer encountered problem while some saying they are running perfectly fine. the day i flashed the DLJ5 and sufferring the problem, i check both wanam and omega thread at XDA, the last few pages were all about people complaining the problem. Added on November 19, 2012, 8:18 pmeasy, find another computer to flash a CWM, then you can use CWM to flash almost anything -- root or kernel or rom Hahahaha, turned out I've been using a very freaking outdated Odin 1.85. That's why its keep hanging when I want to root this phone. Thanks to an advice from a friend I think I successfully rooted already.

I can't see the battery percentage of usage of my phone. Any idea what caused this and what is the solutions? Try restarting a few times but still produce the same results.

QUOTE(dark_axl21 @ Nov 22 2012, 06:53 PM) I had that before, not sure what's the cause of it, but if you rooted your phone, reboot it into recovery mode, then head to *advanced* and select *Wipe Battery Stats* and then boot up your phone again, it should fix the problem. Thanks for the tip. Checking it just now everything went back to normal without me doing anything actually. So random..

Receive notification for software update in my S3. Is it jellybean? I've been postponed the update few times already because reading all this sort of trouble for this upgrade esp with battery draining and slow charging issues.
If i continue and allow the update will it reset all the data on the phone?

QUOTE(ahniss @ Nov 29 2012, 09:53 AM) To be true. After updated to JB. Its really boosted the speed of UI. This is what i really appreciated/like and recommended. But problem comes in after few hours using. 1) Received an error when opening SMS. (fixed by factory reset, and installed Go SMS pro) 2) Battery drained fast. - YES so true! JB has the problem. but.. i noticed that battery drained slow at around 60-40%3) Slow charging? - I only noticed that the charging are slow when i'm not using the samsung s3 packaged charger. I feel slow when i charge using PC-USB, i feel slow when i am using my friend charger (dunno where he bought from). I feel reasonable speed when i use my own charger. battery do charged 100% but overall. still worth to upgrade.. This is my main concern. Right now my phone can last around 16~17 hours with some gaming, listening to mp3 and watching some videos (no wifi and data). Really worried if got uptime less than 12 hours. Getting home from work will be a boring and painful journey instead..

Of course its an awesome phone XDD
For me the best treat is when listening to music. Even with lousy stock earphone, you can feel the deep bass when bass boost equalizer is turned on. As a seasoned mp3 listener, this is really really a nice treat.

QUOTE(XeactorZ @ Nov 29 2012, 11:10 PM) yes why not as long as your device is rooted for battery usage is depends how you use @@ normally my s3 daily charge once =.= I don't mind daily charge. I just hope it can last around 16 hours or something with 4 hours of heavy usage of some gaming, music and videos. Normally I never turned on data and wifi though because working at Spore and only got Msian line. Right now barely achieved it and little worried if update to JB the battery will drained fast.

I want to upgrade to JB and flash abyss kernel using mobile odin. How long does it take normally for it to be done? What are the chances of something might've gone wrong?

QUOTE(JC_jun @ Dec 3 2012, 12:04 AM) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1993044there were alot of phone reported sudden death at XDA forum, the death just happens to any phone, suspected to be flash corrupted. i read several pages, a lot of incident happens when the users let their phones charged overnight and next thing they found their phone wont turn on. this death also happens to both stock rom, custom rom, stock or 3rd party kernel, so it is not rom/kernel related issue, but is hardware related issue. some in XDA saying their phones were "Made by Samsung" -- seems to be first batch.. and my phone is the first batch too, so dangerous.. *OPEN COVER* Oh, sh*t!

stock kernel for S3 is the same right regardless of the android version? not sure if its JB or abyss kernel but since I've flash em yesterday using mobile odin facing tonnes of trouble which I didn't suffer when using stock kernel and ics. Stuttering mp3 and videos is really frustrating. Then got one time phone shutdown for an unknown reason. Haihhh, I think I've gave up tweaking this and that in this phone. For me I think no need for customizing whatsoever if it works just fine before.
