Mum tried to tell him that it's the thousand years old pyramid scheme scam but he believes otherwise.
So, she decided to let him do it to teach him a lesson.

secondly, it's a known fact that most pyramid scheme after 4th layer is unsustainable. if he's still in the 2nd or 3rd layer, i would not advice against it but be extremely cautious and take the money off the table when risk fluctuates.

I have been through many cases where my friends shared me this ideology of making fast cash, boasted how successful they can be... i rejected and warned them, after a year one of them are working at KFC.

Those people you see who are successful in thier mlm scheme are very rare, and those are actually working internally to show the "good face" of the scheme.
