Discovered this band last night, female duo-band Harukatomiyuki or ハルカトミユキ. They just released their debut major album on Nov 6th and I'm liking their music atm. Refreshing yet nostalgic. They sing mostly soft rock, some mid-tempo too.
Vanilla This video left a deep impression in me so depressing yet I can't stop listening to the song, it's addictive. Also, Haruka really sounds like YUI in here.
I gave the album a try and it's pretty solid, considering it's their first major album, I'm impressed. I like their style and Haruka's vocal is nice to listen to.

Holy shit this is soooo good . Thanks for the recommendation , I got something to hear now already . And it's much more darker than Yui's song though ,as in darker tone exactly my taste .
Reminds me abit of Zone .

glad to be able to recommend new stuffs to people, if possible, have a listen to their new debut album, Cyanotype, it's worth it Yes, it's a darker version of YUI xD They basically gave me what YUI's music was missing in regards to my taste. I expect many more great things from this band in the future

^ Sayonara Crawl isn't my favorite single from them, I'm still waiting for kakkoi single like UZA, too bad they didn't have one this year. please Aki-P make one next year.
As for Kouhaku, I'll only watch certain artists' performances. I'm disappointed Momusu didn't get invited because I think they deserve it, they had a good year. Climbing back to the spotlight. But oh well, there's always next year. The girls just gotta strive harder. I'm actually impressed with the new gen members so far because the dance formation routines have gotten very complex since the past year but they still manage to perform well. not to mention, sing live too. I respect them for singing live even with those intense dance.
Anyways, my loot for December.

Went ahead and got this because I really like both songs.
My Do As Infinity 13th Anniversary t-shirt, got it for cheap.
So I'm in the Morning Musume phase at the moment, I never cared for their music before, I watch their shows because they're funny. But now I actually like the recent style a lot. I like that they're moving away from the typical idol image and go for something cooler.
What is LOVE? one of the songs in the Triple A-side single set for release on Jan 29th next year
This song is kinda old but it's growing a lot for me recently.
I think this live truly challenged their stamina, continuous performance song after song and it was during summer. Great effort though.
The medley was quite good, especially the transition from Help Me!! to One Two Three.
Lastly, this is a preview of the prank by Mezamashi TV. It's really funny. They were tricked into staying overnight somewhere (they probably were told it was for a job), then the fake makeshift room they slept in were pulled apart early morning, in front of 500 fans. They had to perform Love Machine in their pajamas and glasses.

Nice I was wondering whether wanna watch Kouhaku or the Korean festival tonight XD Both are so tempting
my prediction came true, White Team won, though it was a random pick despite me not knowing almost 60% of the artists in White. Feeling bit meh about Kouhaku. and what a timing to announce graduation, Yuko! I bet she's happy to be freed from the chains of AKB finally. There's nothing left in the group for her to achieve.
With the exception of Linked Horizon, all the artists that I liked were in aka including mixed gender bands (DCT & Ikimonogakari) But if I was a judge, I would pick shiro. Also nice to see the cast from Amachan there too. And Ishikawa Sayuri's voice is as heavenly as ever.
With Acchan and Yuko gone, AKB will probably go down the same path as MoMusu.
haha most of my favorite bands almost never appear in Kouhaku so I don't watch it except for a minor few artists' afterwards. But this year none actually caught my attention.
Actually it'd be nice to see all the 1st and 2nd gens gone by end of year 2014. That way, we can judge whether the new ones can actually maintain AKB's popularity. They most prob will go down like Momusu.
Interestingly though, Momusu is gaining media buzz recently and the new gens are actually working really hard to climb back up. Their sales nowadays are so much better than Platinum Era. It's good to see that, it's like watching the new gens starting from scratch to build up their era.
Whereas in AKB atm - I somehow feel that the new gens are feeding off from the already popular group instead of actually working their a** off like their seniors back in the days. Which is why I'd like to see the day when ALL older members gone.
Sakanaction's new song, EUREKA is pretty good.

Continuing with the topic of AKB, Kojima Haruna is 25 and will likely graduate this year. Most of the other popular members now are in the 19-22 age range. So there is still hope, for now. Once these members graduate, their only hope will be Matsui Jurina. On the contrary, if Michishige Sayumi graduates from MM (or MM14?) I think the junior members will still be able to do well.
