QUOTE(kobemclouis @ Nov 14 2012, 03:13 PM) Hi Guys, refer to the 1st page post #2 I just applied my Citi Clear card on Sunday and got it approved on Monday, hopefully will get it on today. =) So I have a question on it, how will the 50% rebate work? I was told that we only need to swipe for an amount of 500 and above to enjoy full 250 rebate. But the problem is, when will it rebate? the first statement? or... Thanks guys! |

QUOTE(red_scorpion @ Feb 3 2013, 03:08 PM) Called to terminate the Cash back platinum because of the GST. GST is govt enforcement, there is no way to waive it. In general, bank will advise cm to offset it by accumulated point or cash back, even absorbed by bank itself but it is few to be seen unless u re private banking cm They are so reluctant to waive it and offer me the retention offer that spend RM2500 within 3 months to get RM50 back.... sweat...what a ridiculous offer...then i just said cut it immediately, i dont want this card. p/s: i spent around 20k annually on this card, never pay late, and still have RM18 cash back(not yet reach rm50 block) inside conclusion: citibank is very kiam siap/kedekut to retain their good customer!! |

QUOTE(nothingz @ Feb 4 2013, 12:01 PM) There is no misconception, the decision to offer any kind of rebate ultimately lies with the banks. Is he trying to indicate the banks are doing something illegal? My humble opinion is the word member here chosen to interpret how to save money for paying GST. In view of legal, there is no way to "waive" GST, but bank can offer some incentive, such as reward point & cash rebate, and you may use these incentive to offset the GST you re obliged to pay. It is same practice on paying personal tax, gove offer some incentive for public to offset the tax you re obliged to pay but it doesnt mean the partial of initial amount you should pay is "waived". Hope it clarifies |
