Government job?
If private sector minimum also need one year  hmm.gif
Because my gf applied and got rejected (more than 6 months working period).

fyi, citibank criteria to approve a fresh grad or ccris not more than a year customer.

- have to work in MNC/Listed & goverment sector.
- atleast have 2 month payslip with offer letter already.

for those not company not listed above and dont have any ccris more than a yr, u can stop trying to apply citibank card.
get other bank card/loan 1st for a yr or change job to mnc/listed lol.
cheers!

Actually this is not the 1st credit card for me. In fact, for the past, HSBC & SCB are pretty generous to me assigning the credit limit to me, though I want to have something different on credit cards, so I opted for Citibank PM, which is differs against other ordinary cards. However, it is cool for me if they offered me Air Asia Plat, which I think it is not so useful to me. I will not upset for it, take it and swipe for 50% rebate for 1st purchase, and half year later, i will cut the card with Citibank, since this card is not what I aimed for......There are so many banks in Malaysia, and there is no need for us to upset just for a bank......Hopefully there is no offend to any one here.....just a kind of thought from a small potato like me....Lols.....

Now all bank look at ur salary and epf statement. Or strong business statement. Ur past for all the high limit from other bank is past. Now eith new bnm ruling everything is based on ur salary and DSR(debt service ratio) even u got 10k income and qualify to apply platinum but when bank check ur record they can still offer u lower card type because the bank cant offer u the limit required for platinum.

I believe the BNM ruling and the RM36k income threshold are basically to determine whether your income falls below or exceeds the threshold, and if it falls below the RM36k threshold, you'll be governed by the said ruling.

Beyond the annual income of RM36k, I believe the banks still have the discretion to grant you any card type and any limit they are comfortable with based on the banks' own credit assessment of your financials.

True.all based on personal credit record. So for those who boost around with high income but why got rejected or offered lower limit/card type, check ur own record bfor u complain anywhere. And fyi. Hsbc nowadays is more stingy for approving high limit. smile.gif

Like i said before at previous post. Citi only approve listed/gov & mnc company employee if the person do not have any c.card/loan from other bank more than a year. If u got more than a year record from other bank and payment/dsr is good..what company also can approve if u meet the requirement except u got 2 bank issuer <36k p.a income or non target market for banks. Home verification is 1 of citi important criteria/score for an application, so if u know ur home phone no ppl pick up or whatever reason that they fail to contact u. Pls attach ur phonebill statement 1st page that show ur name and address together when u submit ur docs for processing. Hope this info help abit smile.gif

Maybank 2 Card is better. No fee, 5x for everything. From what I see the only nice thing would be the Automatic Protection...

QUOTE(-Matrix- @ Jan 20 2013, 12:02 PM)
hello all,

i've been using citibank cc for dunno how many donkey years - it was my first credit card back then. it was so old that the design was of current choice card (light blueish) but without the "choice" wording on it ... i supposed citibank dunno which category to put me when they re-designed their card ...

so, to take advantage (if there's any) of new benefits, would appreciate if anyone can advice me on how to deal with it - should i change my card to some other citibank cards such as the latest Citibank Rewards Platinum Card (for example)?

i mostly use my citibank for petrol and light shopping - use cash for majority shopping as i do not wish to drill into deep debts since credit-card is a great animal in such seduction ... and of course the bonus points earned from citibank never expires ...

so, kindly advice ...

cheers ...

U can apply for reward plat since ur spending is petrol (x5point) and light shopping with certain category with 5x as well. Ur current card is called silver card which is citi no longer issue this card. Reward plat current promo is giving 20k point for free when u spend rm500 within 2 mth which is quite good.

I just received my Air-asia platnium card this morning, and found that the envelope was partially cut opened at the side. Called customer service and they promised will be replace a new cc with different number, and collect at their HQ as per my request.

Just to double confirm, RM50 cash rebate (swipe 3 times in 60 days) apply for this card as well right?
How about 50% rebate (max capped RM250)? May I enjoy this by purchase furniture from Ikea or computer at any store in Lowyat?

How you guys max out the benefit with this card, beside use it to buy Air-asia ticket?

Many thanks in advance.
