Called up to ask the CS about the new PremierMiles with Amex.

They say PremierMiles with Amex is for new customers/application only.

Existing PremierMiles with VS card is still valid and no need to change. No news whether those who renew will get back the VS or Amex.

PremierMiles with Amex will still be under credit card and not charge card functionality.

I notice you just need to spend RM2 to get 1 point vs existing VS RM3 to get 1 point.

hmmm......

Alot of Asian countries are not into Amex. Better to stick to Visa.

that's what I am wondering also.... But I think I wouldn't because I only got 3 cards from 3 different issuer - Visa, Master & Amex. So no need 2 Amex... haha

You will be charged 18% p.a. on unpaid balance.... NEVER NEVER pay just the minimum amount.

Always pay the Statement Balance shown, to avoid CC interest charges

received call from citibank and asked me whether i intend to apply their credit card or not. however i am a existing customer of citibank, so i said no.

then i asked him about the balance transfer plan from them. the officer told me that currently have 2 plan - balance transfer & balance transfer installment.
I had forgotten about the detail of balance transfer installment, with balance transfer, one year will be charged 1.99%.
Take an example:
balance transfer RM2500 would be :
2500 X ((1.99/12)%) = RM 4.15 interest for first month. So one year the maximum interest to pay is RM4.15 X 12 = RM49.75 .
With the terms of applied additional credit card from Citibank.

how u guys think?
Sorry for my poor english.

Be careful and understand the terms and conditions. If you opt for balance transfer plan, make sure your new transactions are not imposed interest.

It depends on the card feature and it is entirely up to the bank as to whether they want to bundle such protection with the card.
Honestly, you should not be too bothered about this as if you are a serious traveller, you would know that it is better to get a separate travel insurance/protection rather than to rely on freebies from the bank.

As a hint, you may want to Google and make comparison between paid travel insurance and "bundled" cc travel insurance. You will be surprised by the offering gap.
