Recently, I applied for only Clear card, but they gave me 2 cards (Clear Mastercard & Rewards Platinum Visa).
Now i received 2 statements to pay GST for 2 cards amounted RM100. I am a bit reluctant to pay for the Rewards Platinum Visa since I never applied for it. But, want to check some facts with help from you all:

1. I am getting 2 categories that they already assigned to me (Driving & Entertainment-cannot change this year) free for the 1st year. So, I dont have to pay the AF RM200.
2. I can waive my GST this year if I made 3 swipes within 60 days from approval. Nevertheless, still have to pay 1st this month as they will deduct in upcoming month.
3. For the 2nd year, I do not wish to subscribe to any category, therefore, can I retain the card while not having any subscribed categories? With that, I wont have to pay unnecessary fees/charges to them except for GST. Or, I have to cancel it then and transfer my point to my Clear card?

Oh yeah, for Clear card users, I heard that TGV wont be extending the Friday 1-for-1 ticket offer next year. Any of u know what about GSC & Cathay?

I will answer for the 2 cards part. Lodge a formal complaint direct to Bank Negara. Banks or rather, agents should be reprimanded for this. Too many cases already. In future, be careful with your application form.

Yeah, how did they pull that of? Coz i remember signing for Clear card application only. Lucky I still remember the agent's name & even got his namecard. Thanks for your idea.

Funny thing is, I already call Citibank to check on that matter, assuming that I am to cancel the 2nd card. But, they keep telling me they will follow up in few days, but till now, nothing. That's why I want to know whether it is worth keeping the 2nd card if no fees required to be paid for the following year.
*
Simple, you might have left the boxes for other cards untick/tick so the agent may simply tick them. To avoid this, cancel out all unwanted cards. Another, when you crossed the photocopy of your IC, do state that it is for the clear card application only.

Whether it is worth or not, you may check and compare..and if you do decide to keep it, then the agent may not be reprimanded and even get the commission. So they are just taking their chances and there will be future victims if this is not reported to Bank Negara.

One of our resident sifu is Gen-X Check out Gen XYZ Blog on Credit Cards. Just google those keywords and you will be directed to his Blog.  You can also search his postings on this section

For payments, just remember, if u afford to pay in full, DO NOT swipe the CC. Don't pay any interest to the CC. Onlt get cash rebates / points from the CC. Make money from the CC and not the other way.
*
Bro, i think you mean "if you cannot afford to pay in full, DO NOT swipe the CC"

Before new year i call to CS ask them can waive the annual fee for Clear credit card. The CS said can, but need to wait it to appear in statement 1st only i can waive.

Then i call again to waive, now this girl told me cannot waive becoz new policy come out. I argue with her on this matter. Solution give me is cancel my clear card and issue me another credit card with no benefit with free for life. I argue back with her that promise is promise and this consider cheating. She keep on saying policy change lah, clear card got 1 to 1 CBTL & GSC then you have to pay the RM90.

So frustrated...

If you are very sure that the officer said 'can' , try to write to Citibank. Do state the date and time of your conversation.

Hi guys, wanna ask something here..
Today I received my 2nd year 1st month statement which it charged me for 2nd year annual fee.
Here my question:
Can I call Citibank and ask them to cancel my card so that I doesn't need to pay the annual fee as I cancel it on 1st month of the year??
Any idea? Thanks in advance
*
Yes, annual fee is an upfront fee for next year usage.

You will need the technical details such as:

Your Name / Contact Details
Your Card Number
Your request, to set the SMS Alert to RM1.00 which was rejected by Citibank and instead offer to set it at RM201 which is still to high. You will need to specify Date / Time Call was made including name of Officer if u remember
BNM Announcement did not specify and default amount
Ask for BNM intervention to compel Citi to send SMS Alert for CC Transactions above RM1.00

Some scammer / unethical staff can swipe your cards RM100 for a few times and consumers are always at the losign end when in CC Dispute with the Bank but with a RM1.00 SMS Alert, you will be notified of all CC Transactions.

If u read the quote by Human Nature, BNM did not set any default amount to receive the SMS Alert..

Perhaps Human Nature can give some further insights.
*
If I have any email from the bank stating that my request is not possible, I will just use that and forward to Bank Negara. If it is from a phone conversation, then I state the date. Yes, have to provide name and card number.

Maybe wait until Monday and if there is no response/action, then you can decide your next course of action.

Anyone knows how long will a card conversion take? As mentioned previously, I hardly use those benefits of Coffee Bean and movies anymore on my Clear card so I submitted a request via fax to convert it into a Citibank Rewards Platinum for points collection on Tuesday. So far nobody called me to even acknowledge my request.
*
It is always better for you to initiate the call and ask if they have received your fax.

I have just got my clear card last 2 weeks. It's 2 cards together which means I have Shell Citibank too which is not really useful to me since I have MBB. Can someone advise me if I didn't swipe my Shell Citibank withink 60 days and I shall terminate it after 6 months, will this affect anything? Will I be charged any fees?
*
There is this RM50 GST that you have to pay when your application is successful.

Generally, you can actually terminate your card anytime..but since you mentioned about 60 days and 6 months, is there a specific Terms and Conditions that you are referring to?

I tot there is this t&c which I can only terminate my card after 6months? If I am allowed to terminate this card now, means I will still be charged GST right? Because I did not swipe my card within 60days.
*
Where is the T&C? I doubt there is. Yes, you will still be charged the GST.

With card's account no and holder name?

Mind to guide how to make interbank fund transfer from CIMB?

I tried asking CITI tolfree, but they don't seem to know.

Thanks in advance.

It is under 'Transfer to other banks', you will need to select the recipient bank, fill up account number, amount, etc
