Hi all.. need to change new set of tyre.. which brand you all recommend size 205/50/15. Prefered Bridgestone , Toyo an Yoko. Good in wet and dry.. U know la wet season .... need to secure..Please recommend me and where to buy and how much.. thx

Toyo T1R is pretty good in the wet...though not sure if they have that size... n sidewall is abit soft so good for comfort.

Federal 595 RSR oso good...

price wise expect to pay 3xx-4xx for these 2 tires...

otherwise Kumho KU36....good n stiff sidewall....good grip in the dry...wet just go a lil slower.

tumpang thread, how to know a car r14 stock rims can put what size of tyre 165(stock) to 175, 185?

normally,
15" is 6.6" width rim
16" is 7" width rim
17" is 7.5" width rim...

but 14" rim can still accommodate the 185/60r14 tyre.

195/70r14 also can be seen, maybe on those van model.....

why ?

curious, last time i drive lantis, stock rims 14" put 185; now have just change to myvi, mayvi also 14" rims, people say myvi can a bit buang when cornering, i wonder if change to bigger size of tyre can improve or not the buang to have more tyre surface to grib on road

Added on November 13, 2012, 9:37 pmEhhhh... it is very subjective la this case. I might say it's the car design too that play a part of it.. U see, Myvi our local car technology is nothing that can be shout about.. the absorber , etc is uncomparable to other imported car.

well.... even with a bit wider tyre could help a bit, but wont necessary solve that problem bro. UNLESS, u tune up ur whole myvi to performance parts..... strut bar, absorber, etc....

its the center of gravity and driving style. compare to lantis which naturally has an ideal center of gravity and better suspension setup, myvi has the basic torsion beam, softer suspension and higher center of gravity which contribute to the ' buang' feel as you define it. changing to wider tires means lower profile needed, this more or less help lowering the center of gravity. changing the suspension system to cater your driving style is the best way.
also, driving style like braking during corner (not before or prior to taking corner ) is another reason. the thicker and soft sidewall on stock tires (profile 65 and above) contribute to tires flex' thus added to 'buang' sensation.
