Toyota and Perodua using electric power steering which is much much lighter compared to hydraulic power steering.

from my internet reading,

proton did study to implement the EPS years ago,
but they found out that EPS was hard to be tuned to have "that HPS feeling".

New mapping, can do 160km/h. New mapping good for city driving, top speed, not really. Tune more to be city driving
*
maybe latter preve should be equipped with mode selector: TOWN, CRUISE, COMBINED

...cfe had limitation on the cvt gearbox. unless Punch Powertrain could improve the withstand of the cvt to handle more torque, the cfe will remain as is...
*
i believe that uprated cvt tranny can hold the uprated cfe.
it's better to shop for higher rating than VT3, rather than godek2 the current tranny.

no offence ya smile.gif

on other note,

it's really that the current manual tranny can take higher torque?
well, everything has it's own limitation.
may be the manual cfe (if any exists) will not be using the current manual tranny offered in exec now?

you mean VT4?

Its for 4x4 and SUV/CUV application. lol

may be for proton's next model?

“Next year there will be a new model,” he said, adding that Proton also needs to work on the D-segment as there’s no more Perdana. “Proton wants to be in all segments,” Lukman declared, while also hinting at an SUV. No dates were given, although the new model in question should be the Prevé hatchback.

Just my opinion...

I always read from forum that preve exec cvt is tooo slow, non-responsive.. and while reading that I will always regret getting exec cvt variant..

But when driving in my car, i always thought "well, it's actually not that bad"...compared to my ex-car (vios 06) there's not much difference in performance..

Back to the forum, read again...then regret again...

Get back in my car, then satisfied...

Then regret when reading, then satisfied when driving...

For me it's more on the 'perception' and proton needs to improve on that. They can somehow provide remapping that just increase a bit on pick up or remap that do nothing...at least we can rest assure and think that there's actually "improvement" going on for exec cvt... If it's something to do with perception, even placebo effect also counts....unless there's major issue..

the level of satisfactory varies within person.

i haven't test-drive any preve yet, only exora bold cfe i did.
to say peve exec not powerful, i think i should compared it with NA persona.
for preve cfe, my benchmark is that of eb cfe (well not fair enuff, car vs mpv).
currently, i'm satisfied with eb cfe.

for me, most important thing is "own satisfactory".
people around us have their says, but the money comes from my pocket.
it's more important to satisfy urself rather than others.

...

i read from other blog, preve hatch gonna be like lexus c200h.

Hi guys, i plan to get my first car and i think of Proton Preve cos i like the design and its a big car compare to myvi SE. Currently i have 2 options only which is myvi SE or Preve Exec CFE.

But the perspective and friends around me kept telling me proton not good this and that.

All the sifus, can kindly advice whether Proton car worth to buy?
*
i'm not sifu, but i wanna say smthg.

1. buy according to ur need.
2. myvi is a small car.
3. preve is a sedan.

if u r staying in city & work within, buy a small car.
if u travel long distance, buy a sedan.
-small car should have good FC & maneuverability.
-sedan car should have better comfort & space.

if u r going to marry soon & have kids, opt for a sedan.
if u r solo, just take a small car.
-kids stuff will take most of your boot.

worth or not-worth is u to decide.
study safety, gadgets, servicing, spare parts availability etc.
test-drive car of ur choice & buy which u comfortable with!

&...since car (any car) is a human produce & machanical, pls dun expect a perfect product.
it is whether u can live/tolerate with the imperfections or cannot.

i know bro, but what i mean is the proton perspective( alot of troubles ) if u get what i mean?
*
i dun say proton is problem-free.
since this is preve thread, u can see&read all preve's problem.
but how about others?

i may suggest that u should be a ninja & infilterate other cars' threads as well wink.gif

my wife owns a myvi.
my pa owns a wira & a civic KA.
my ma owns a gen2 campro vanilla.
my younger sis owns a inokom getz.
my ride is suzuki kapchai only.

from my experience, all those got "batuk2" once-a-while.
& from my friends' experience, their non-national car also got "flu".
it just whether u can live/tolerate.
