Hi, you too have problem with poor fm reception. I notice it goes bad when driving, most of the time it's fne when idling.

Hi guys, I had a midnight drive to Genting with full load and the drive was rather pleasant. Didn't feel any bit of lack of power, the only annoying thing was the vibration before the rpm hits 2k, so what I did was, I down shift to the previous gear and then up shift to minimized the vibration. Managed to smoke a Latio, vios and city on up hill drive. None the less my friends were impressed with the car, which makes me feel even better. I was damn afraid of road block, because my car has a second layer of ecotint smoke 20 on top of the standard tint. I had the front windscreen tint strip and installed ecotint ray barrier, because the standard one was literally rubbish in heat rejection.

On the other hand I feel pretty bad for my car, because it's still in the burn in period and is scheduled for the first service tomorrow. I heard that there's ECU and TCU update for Preve CFE with chassis number below 24k, after my friend had it done and according to him the car has evolved into a greater beast.

My conclusion is, the Preve CFE is truely a great car and I am happy that I made the right decision. Cheers.

looks great!  how much is sierra glow? is there only one type of service offered, or there are different levels of sierra glow like how window tinting works(higher heat rejection=more expensive)?
*
It costs RM 700 for a full body glass coating. The material used was silica, by the way it includes head lamp, tail lamp, wiper arm, basically the whole exterior of your car. As for tinting, I went for Smoke 20, which means VLT 20%. The darker the tint the more expensive it is. The heat rejection was superb now, front tint was Raybarrier (same as our standard rear windscreen tint) with heat rejection up to 97% compared to the lauya standard tint which has a heat rejection rating of some what 80% only. The reason why I chose EcoTint was because, they can offer me warranty for both layers of tinting, although I am paying a little bit extra, but I certainly feel that it's worth it.

what is the purpose of glass coating? because of it's white and the stain will stick easily?
*
Hi, glass coating means adding another layer of silica on top of the original paint to protect it from the element. There's only one type of coating available at Sierra Glow. One of it's advantages is the water bead effect which repels water, as a result dirt is harder to stick on the car surface. It's damn easy to wash as well, a bit of normal car wash shampoo and it will bring back the shine.

does changing 'kasut' affect warranty? Saw the other day someone traded stock rim + tyre for 1.2k.
*
Really where? Our stock rim and tire can fetch this amount and I am really surprised.hmm.gif I wan to change rim too, probably enkei sc 33 matte or shiny black.

Hi guys,

I'm now in Glenmarie sc, made an appointment last thursday by phone call and visit them for alignmennt service. But today they said the appointment was not recorded. What kind of service is this?

Say need to wait very long if I want to do it today. My milage already 1600++km and going outstation, no choice lo.

Anyway to make an official complaint for this?

Proton, you need to buck up la, if you want the public to have confidance in you.
*
I was there on Monday and I have to agree with you that Glenmarie SC is a little bit slow. Sent my car in for the 1st 1k service, plus to check a few things. I had it sent it first thing in the morning at 8am and got my car back at 5:30. Only few complaints, alignment off, steering wheel vibrates when driving at 120km/h, ecu & tcu update, radio reception not good, front rh door trim got rattling sound when heavy bass, high speed braking got helicopter sound and rear lh outer tail lamp got defect. Order in progress for both front disc and the tail lamp rclxms.gif

Managed to solved most of time except the radio reception and alignment, steering tilting to the right when going straight. Had it adjusted today. Now perfect.

i can't imagine going any lower.. there are two iron 'hooks' at the bottom of the engine area which have hit the ground a few times at parking lot ramps and speed bumps.. lucky no damage on the body
*
QUOTE(rich8833 @ Dec 17 2012, 01:57 PM)
Not only the hooks below. My preve front nose left and right also got scratches already. I did not know our preve got such a long nose. smile.gif
*
QUOTE(K2002 @ Dec 17 2012, 10:59 PM)
ya will get all the scratches there. most of the time bump on roads too high. or if you go up genting or cameron with super steep roads sometimes will scratch through. so if want lower your ride have to think twice.
*
Eh, I scratched the towing latch located on the bottom before when i was trying to make a U-turn by driving up to a slope at my neighbor's house. Damn I thought the bumper kena at first, thank god it was just the stupid hook. One more thing, I do find that the lower arm quite low already. So now the only solution is to get a bigger diameter rim to compensate it hahaha.

By the way any sifu here mind to show step by step photos on how to add a hose to the engine mounting. Is it just use normal paip hose and tie it with cable tie around the engine mounting?

My car is still having the bad radio reception problem. It only happens when driving, when idling it seems ok most of the time. It's getting more and more annoying.

Bro,

I found out the other day that my radio oso got this bad reception problem. Since I was idling at that time I godek2 a bit on my HU. I've looked at the frequency let say Fly.FM which is supposed to be 95.8 in Klang Valley. I saw that the HU is actually picking up that radio station from Seremban's frequency which is 98.6 iianm. After changed  the reception definitely improve. U might wanna try that.

Oh, I'll give it a try. Very annoying mad.gif

rm70 can go 400-430km normal working day...highway travel average 110-120km/h smoothly,the best i get is 6.9l/100km
*
Your FC is awesome. I am heavy on my right foot, FC is really bad, RM85 only gets around 400km. tongue.gif That day I cucuk Golf 1.4 on kesas. Performance wise more or less the same, 0-100 golf is fast by 0.1 seconds, however in terms of horse power and torque preve is slightly higher. flex.gif syok.

If i put another layer on my current tint, will it void the warranty? I think my current tint is too transparent and it makes me feel a little bit uncomfortable while driving haha.
*
QUOTE(diadokmai @ Dec 31 2012, 05:10 PM)
yes..warranty void..enjoy ur new tint.. thumbup.gif

last time i use 2 layer too for my Gen2 so far so lucky no JPJ block me becouse of tinted...only summone me becoz not wearing seat belt...RM300 sweat.gif
*
I did mine at EcoTint taipan and I am given warranty for both layers. biggrin.gif , overpaid but it's worth it. Mine 20% VLT on top of the standard one that comes with the car, I suggest you should change the tint on the front windscreen, because that one is literrally rubbish.
