The cash back pay out is RM100 in the first statement and RM200 in the second statement. I received 2 seperate calls from SCB informing me about this payout mechanics, one call before I received the card, and the next call was after I got the card. Efficient!

There was a SCB livingsocial promo that was giving out RM350! Too bad I already have applied and collected my RM300. No matter how efficient or the amount of cash given upfront, I'm still going to cancel the card shortly. Without the 0.5% cash back, no point to keep.

this was already there previously, that's why i'm puzzled why everyone got multiple cashback instead

Previously there was no capping on the number of cards applied. I heard of someone who apparently got RM2,100 from SCB by applying 7 cards! WIN! rclxms.gif

I recently applied for 1 and got my RM300.

I just re-read the T&C at SCB's website, and now there's 15% cash back on petrol, capped at RM100 for Online applications of Business Platinum cards. The campaign period is only for 6-months and there's also a maximum cap of 8.7million payout by SCB.

Sounds like a good promotion!

Hi Sifus,

FYI, I submitted my application through online. The staff/agent call me this afternoon and offer me 2 options as below:

Promo option 1 :
1. Get instant CashBack of RM300 when your card is approved
2. 2 years annual fee waiver

Promo option 2 :
1. Get instant CashBack of RM55 when your card is approved
2. FREE Smart-Tag valued RM120 OR Touch-N-Go Card valued RM100 (choose 1 of those)
3. 15% CashBack on Petrol transactions (max capped at RM68/month), Valid 6 months from card approval date
4. 2 years annual fee waiver

He suggested to me to apply option 1 (Business Plat Visa), and apply option 2 (Business Plat Master) after option 1 approved, and I will enjoy these 2 promo benefits.

After I read T&C, my understanding is as below:

Promo option 1 (via online):
1. Get instant CashBack of RM300 when your card is approved
2. 2 years annual fee waiver
3. 15% CashBack on Petrol transactions (max capped at RM100/month), Valid 6 months from card approval date

Promo option 2 (via the Bank’s direct sales agencies or the Bank’s branches):

And I won't enjoy 2 benefits as stated in T&C item no. 13:
I have few questions:
1) Can sifus advise me which one is correct? Or I should call customer service to clarify?
2) If I choose the option 1 (submission via online), do I need to submit the scanned copy of signature i? I scare the staff/agent will auto apply both options with my scanned signature.

Thanks in advance

I have the same understanding as you, after reading the T&C. Looks like online application, ie. Option 1 is the best choice.

Take the RM300, 2 year annual fee waiver, and 15% petrol cash rebate, capped at RM100 per month for 6 months.

However, to max out the RM100 petrol cash rebate cap, you will need to spend RM667 on petrol per month.

Hi Guys,
I'm a bit confuse here, if want to apply for:

1) to get RM300 cash back, which card I should apply and with 5% petrol rebate? is Standard Chartered Business Platinum? One card only?

2) to get FOC SmarTAG, which card I should apply? Standard Chartered Business Platinum too? One card only?

Thanks.

From what I understand:

1. There is a sign up promotion via two channels:
a) Online - RM300 cash
b) Direct Sales and branches - T&G or Smart Tag

2. There is a member referal program to get the T&G and Smart Tag. I've posted the T&Cs somewhere here.

3. Petrol cash back of 15% is available for Business Gold and Business Platinum card.

Summary: Apply a Business Gold or Plat card via the online channel and take the RM300 cash and enjoy 6 months of 15% petrol rebate. The member referal program is not interesting to me. Anyway, after 6 months, you know what to do. rclxm9.gif

33. The Bank may vary any of these Terms and Conditions and extend the Campaign Period. Any such change will be announced on the Bank’s website at standardchartered.com.my, and in the Bank’s branches.

haha. they already mentioned they will and can change the T&C anytime they feel needed.

Although its in their T&C, I feel sad for those who applied for online channel under the impression they will get both RM300 and 15% rebate. I also have have a copy of the T&Cs as posted by unknownhuman.

Customer also can change credit card bank anytime they feel needed vmad.gif

I thought is either

1. RM300 or
2. RM55 + smart tag + 15% petrol cash back?

There's a T&G referral program, refer to: http://www.standardchartered.com.my/person...-tng/index.html

But they may change their T&C anytime as they like...

Confirmed with another call to another CS, online rebate rm300 comes with no 15% petrol cashback. The earlier T&C was for earlier 5% petrol cashback they forgot to take down... So, looks like will cancel the card after 6 months... Not much use once rm300 rebate is finished...

Well, at least they admitted their mistake. Thanks for the clarification!
