The cash back pay out is RM100 in the first statement and RM200 in the second statement. I received 2 seperate calls from SCB informing me about this payout mechanics, one call before I received the card, and the next call was after I got the card. Efficient!

There was a SCB livingsocial promo that was giving out RM350! Too bad I already have applied and collected my RM300. No matter how efficient or the amount of cash given upfront, I'm still going to cancel the card shortly. Without the 0.5% cash back, no point to keep.

What SCB livingsocial promo are u talking about? Care to show the link as I could not find it at their website or thru googling.

The new rm300 cashback promo has these additional t&c which were not in the previous promo:

14. If:
(a) the customer breaches any of the terms and conditions of the SCB Credit Card; or
(b) the Bank discovers at any time that the customer did not in fact satisfy the requirements under this Campaign;
the customer loses his/her entitlement to the Sign-Up CashBack and must immediately refund the Sign-Up CashBack to the Bank.

15. This refund may be done by either of the following methods, at the Bank’s discretion, and Successful Eligible Customers agree for this to be done:
(i) the Bank may charge the refund amount to the customer’s credit card account; or
(ii) the Bank may debit the refund amount from any current or savings account held by the customer with the Bank.

When I saw online that GST was charged to my Visa Plat, I called the CS to cancel the card. I was counter-offered to keep the card and SCB will credit rm50 to offset the GST and waive the annual fee.

Got invited too. Though relatively not as good rebate rate as compared to others.

RM3115 - RM100 VOUCHER 3.21%
RM5115 - RM200 VOUCHER 3.91%
RM7115 - RM300 VOUCHER 4.22%

Got invited thru email not sms, spending of rm3145,5145, 7145, rm30 more than yours.

Would pay my Insurance premium to claim this voucher, very lucky and just in time.
Wonder everybody spending period is the same, mine is 5-Sep to 5-Nov.
Was thinking of applying Watami card just to pay Insurance premium, now may be no need for it.

Nothing in the T&C exclude Insurance Premium:

Participation
4.Eligible Customers who spend the required minimum amount in retail transactions (whether local or international) ("Minimum Spend Criteria") using their Standard Chartered Bank Malaysia Berhad credit card ("SCB Card") during the Promotion Period will be entitled to receive a gift in the form of a Parkson Voucher ("Voucher"). Only principal cardholders are eligible to receive the Gift. Retail transactions made by supplementary cardholders will be considered as retail transactions made by the principal cardholder.
6.Each Eligible Customer is limited to only one Voucher under this Promotion.
7.Cash advances, cash withdrawals, balance transfers, disputed transactions and any fees charged by the Bank, including but not limited to charges for cash advance or cash withdrawals, annual fees, interest, finance charges, late fees, and such other charges will be excluded from the computation of the Minimum Spend Criteria.
8.Transactions which are voided, disputed or charged-back to the SCB Card will not count towards meeting the Minimum Spend Criteria.
9.For retail transactions successfully registered under the Bank's easy payment schemes, the original amount of the transaction as posted to the Eligible Customer's credit card account during the Promotion Period will count towards meeting the Minimum Spend Criteria. The monthly billed instalment amounts will not count towards meeting the Minimum Spend Criteria.
10.Retail purchases made during the Promotion Period must be posted to the Eligible Customer’s credit card account by 5 November 2013 to be included towards meeting the Minimum Spend Criteria. Please note that transactions may be posted by the merchant as late as 30 days after the transaction date. The Bank will not be held responsible for late posting

Addon:
Just called the CS and confirm paying Insurance Premium qualifies as Retail Transaction.
