My card anniversary is August, and now GST not credited yet, so I call and cancel. They say wait for it to charge, then request waiver. If by then they don't waive, I cancel it I still don't have to pay.

I have 2 cards with SCB. Today 1 card was charged GST. I called for GST waiver and they waived, and my other card they gave me the points to redeem for GST.

Only T&C is cannot cancel card within one year. Since my SCB card only used for discount at F&B, so I guess no harm keeping.

Last month ate korean bbq got 15% off with SCB. Ok la.

The person on the phone said that. Good point. Anyway, doesn't bother me since I plan to keep the card if no need to pay GST.

Seems like bank these days like to create T&C on the fly with no black and white.
