Many of you are aware that effective 2nd January 2013, SCB Platinum credit card holders are no longer eligible for FREE entries to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge and SCB Platinum Biz cards no longer earn 0.5% cash back.

But at least the above notices give you sometime to go get another card before it comes into effect. What is not fair is, with immediate effect, you will not earn any points when you use your SCB credit card until further notice.

This is actually good because those intending to cancel to cancel ALL SCB CC after getting the final cash-back (From new cards) will not need to feel "wasted" on ChoicePoints collected... brows.gif

hahaha, that's so true because even if get RM1200 free money and spend it away, the points collected still cannot redeem anything. And based on what you have reported, got incentive again when want to cancel SCB cards whistling.gif

I was so free that I visited SCB website and was shocked to learn that one now needs 67,000 points to redeem RM100 Giant Cash Voucher. Back in August when when I published my article on Standared Chartered Bank Business Credit Card, one only needed 32,000 points for the same voucher!!!

user posted image

So my question is - Is the above correct and is the latest, i.e. need 67,000 points for RM100 cash voucher or is there a newer revised catalogue?

That's the recent one.. Somebody wants to cancel the card now because of reduced benefits.

The reason I asked if there is a newer one is because in SCB Homepage, it states that there is a "Refreshed 360 Reward Point Catalogue" BUT when I click on it and redirect to a new page, it says click "here" and my screen will then show "File Not Found" (suppose to be in pdf format).

They took it down because it's updated to their official page already.

Thanks Bro, noted after 8th December 2012 they inflated the points again and the new catalogue is as per what I see online, i.e. same as my image above.

they aiming at those new customer with load of debts, rather than long term customer doh.gif

All banks love customers that have debts with the ability to repay them - that's how they make money laugh.gif

But, needing 67000 points to redeem RM100 cash voucher, that's ridiculous. I bet those "loyal" to SCB and have been "promoting" SCB here at LYN for the last few years and not wining any of their contest must be pissed off big time.

in no time, SCB will loose tons of customers and not many will want their credit cards. You see, people with debt also want to benefit from using their cards, haha. So might as well go with other cards giving lower interest rate (e.g. MBB 2 AMEX) and pay less in interest and at the same time get to earn cash vouchers with their card usage.

As for new customers, with people like us here sharing with others the danger of having a credit card and the benefits we get from various cards, soon, no one would want SCB credit cards, hahaha

I'm not a fan of SCB and I guess I made the right move when I cancelled my Standard Chartered Bank Visa Infinite early this year.

you should make sure the GST is offset before cancelling the card.

Yes, OCBC Titanium.. nod.gif For the rewards. Which one is better?
Applying online or thru agent? This forumer, yns222, said he can help me send the application with GST waived.

Good to know that the GST has been taken care off.

I guess you must be the only person here in SCB thread that applied for the SCB card not because you are "greedy" and after the FREE Cash laugh.gif and best of all willing to throw away FREE Money notworthy.gif I guess the saying Easy Come Easy Go applies in your case, haha.

And by the way, just go apply online or walk into a OCBC Branch instead of relying on strangers and giving them your personal details. I can tell you, there are many con men here in LYN Forum and spammers too wink.gif

And I just published my article titled Standard Chartered Banks Credit Card Points Redemption Is Simply Ridiculous.

I just updated my article on Enrich Miles to include the Standard Chartered Bank WorldMiles MasterCard. In my micro review of this said card, for earning Enrich Miles better go with Maybankard 2 Cards. But if you fly Air Asia only, maybe it is worth the time to get the SCB WorldMiles MasterCard and earn yourself 25,000 Big shot points before 31 December 2013.

I just categorized the Standard Chartered Bank Visa Infinite as the worst Premier Credit Card. As you are all well aware, SCB has one of the worst reward redemption program in Malaysia and effective this month, the SCB VI no longer permits unlimited entries to airport lounge but twice a year only!!

To find out which are the 3 Ultimate Credit Card for Airport Lounge, click here to read my updated/revised article titled The Best Credit Card for FREE Entry to Airport Lounge.
