At least they are maintaining the dining discounts. Will keep one card for this purpose.

I'm keeping mine for the Priority Pass benefit and dining discounts. smile.gif

Guys, Standard Chartered will be discontinuing:
- 0.5% Cash Back on all retail transactions (Business Plat & Business Gold)
- Free access to KLIA Plaza Premium Lounge (Business Plat & Plat)
- Complimentary travel insurance (all related cards)
- Complimentary Home/Motoring Assistance (Gold & Classic)
- Complimentary Purchase Protection Plan (all related cards)

Besides that, all purchases made from 2nd January 2013 onward will no longer earn you any Choice Point until further notice. A new rewards program is planned, by the way.
*
Wondering how long would the "until further notice" be. sad.gif

From the notice I received, it seems that the new revamped rewards program is expected to be unveiled some time in the 2nd quarter of 2013. Well, it better be good because they can't give all these free cash forever.
*
Yea, it better be good. The main reason I'm sticking with my SCB VI now is the PP lounge access. shakehead.gif

Without all these benefits, I have really no idea why am I keeping this card.

Well, maybe you can keep it in your drawer from 2 January 2013 until second quarter and see what is the revamped benefits package. smile.gif

But, needing 67000 points to redeem RM100 cash voucher, that's ridiculous. I bet those "loyal" to SCB and have been "promoting" SCB here at LYN for the last few years and not wining any of their contest must be pissed off big time.

I'm not a fan of SCB and I guess I made the right move when I cancelled my Standard Chartered Bank Visa Infinite early this year.

As at now, I still have my SCB VI. I guess I'll be hanging on to it while waiting to see what their revamped rewards system looks like. blink.gif

what type of cash back? 2% cash back on weekday and 5% cash back on weekend?

The cash back should be provided on next 1-2 days..cannot be more than 1 month
*
Really? Is it in their policy that it should be on the next 1-2 days? XD

From 1 April 2013, spend with any Standard Chartered Credit Card and you could be well on your way
to your next holiday with a redeemed flight. Because now, you can earn 360° Rewards Points and convert them into AirAsia BIG Points. With flights to redeem, you can now fly to more places around the world.

http://www.standardchartered.com.my/person...nbnr_5x_airasia

Also earn 5x points when you spend on local retails in April and May.

Need to read more to check whether existing points can be used to redeem the BIG Points or not.

add:
Air Asia Miles
1000 BIG Miles
Rewards Code:  201450
Points Required:  9,000
Mode of Delivery:  Air miles credit

Does that mean all SCB credit card Rewards Points system is back effective 1 April 2013?

I am not very clear myself. If it is something 'exciting', I would expect that SCB would want to disseminate it in a bigger way biggrin.gif

Yea, I thought so too. blink.gif

sweat.gif  shakehead.gif no point then.

Why no point?

Fees and charges, and reversed and voided charges don't earn points for all other cards anyway.

I use my Amex for petrol to earn 5X points, and I can use my other cards too for insurance premiums and bill payments.

I only want to hold max 2 CC. (RM100) Gov tax. Best if can have CC that is all round benefit. It use to be for SCB Business card. But ever since they remove points earnings and jack up the points required to get goodies. This is no longer the case.

Now I think Maybank 2 CC is better. AMEX + Visa/MC.

I see you are referring to your own specific circumstances. That being the case, I'd understand. smile.gif

As for me, the unlimited Priority Pass Lounge access benefit of the SCB PB VI more than made up for the unattractive rewards points system, as I access PP Lounges 12-14 times a year.

The SCB PB VI lounge access alone is far superior than the meagre point rewards biggrin.gif

Totally agreed. That's why if SCB ever decides to pull the plug on the lounge access benefit, I'd be off shopping for another card.

Having said that, it would only benefit those who do make use of the lounge access privileges.

Made few calls before, so far all the CS officers I got were pretty polite and patient. Maybe it depends on luck biggrin.gif

I don't have any issues too, from my experiences.

Move to 3rd quater, any news regarding the rewarding system?
If no, then I would like to cancel the card within July.

Though there were not much changes, the rewards points have been back since 1 April 2013.
