All banks love customers that have debts with the ability to repay them - that's how they make money 

But, needing 67000 points to redeem RM100 cash voucher, that's ridiculous. I bet those "loyal" to SCB and have been "promoting" SCB here at LYN for the last few years and not wining any of their contest must be pissed off big time.

in no time, SCB will loose tons of customers and not many will want their credit cards. You see, people with debt also want to benefit from using their cards, haha. So might as well go with other cards giving lower interest rate (e.g. MBB 2 AMEX) and pay less in interest and at the same time get to earn cash vouchers with their card usage.

As for new customers, with people like us here sharing with others the danger of having a credit card and the benefits we get from various cards, soon, no one would want SCB credit cards, hahaha

I'm not a fan of SCB and I guess I made the right move when I cancelled my Standard Chartered Bank Visa Infinite early this year.

you should make sure the GST is offset before cancelling the card.

why feel bad? GST already offset against the RM300 cash back, use it and cancel it within one year period will do

I guess you must be the only person here in SCB thread that applied for the SCB card not because you are "greedy" and after the FREE Cash   and best of all willing to throw away FREE Money I guess the saying Easy Come Easy Go applies in your case, haha.

And by the way, just go apply online or walk into a OCBC Branch instead of relying on strangers and giving them your personal details. I can tell you, there are many con men here in LYN Forum and spammers too

I think it's difficult to aspect anything from them with the massive promotion SC had right now. They forget about us eventually.
Anyway, if you cancel at branch. It will be happened instantly. But full cancellation can only be done after 5 working days.
(Full cancelation means the records will be cleared in on- line acc as well)

they also blur with your case, didnt even touch the cashback 

I just saw this new terms in their website. Does this mean no more free entry to Plaza Premium Lounge? If like that better cancel it

hi sifu here, just get my SCB visa business platinum. in dilemma want to active it or not. since they suspend a lot benefit, the brochure they send to me yesterday still with those benefit but when i check their website just now. all benefit gone

now only petrol cashback 15% is the reason for me to use it. (ard RM700 petrol/month) but only last for 6 month. can i cancel it right after 6 month or after the petrol cashback budget used up? any penalty?

and i remember i told the salesman i wan smart tag but CS told me he tick tng for me, can i ask CS to change back to smartag?

Hi any term and condition after i used the RM300 cash back and want to terminate? i request for terminate then get call from SCB that they not allow me to terminate due to i already used the RM300 cash back, only can terminate after one year.

my card is inside my drawer for more than 4 months, and im sure im going to cancel it by end of year before the GST

Finally got all my credit cards cancelled. I called the bank and said that I've lost all my cards and ask them to cancel immediately. If they send me replacement cards I will not activate them. Problem solved. Bye bye standard chartered forever.
