Tried the i5-3317u (3g) variant already in Singapore.. The device is pretty awesome! The palm rest is made of plastic but the whole thing is pretty sturdy... The keyboard buttons were not as good as Samsung's standard ones... But are still okay. Would be good if they have much better travelling depth and pressure points.. But I guess its too much to ask for lol XD

QUOTE(farkingdom @ Nov 21 2012, 09:10 AM) I'm interested to get the 500T in Kuching, may I know which shop it is that is selling? Will Photoshop be able to run smoothly on the Atom processor? Extra: Reason for going for non Pro is simply because of budget and Intel Clover Trail is enough for my work. I'm only doing simple programming, photoshop and web reading. Heavy gaming goes to my laptop. I wonder if the 500T can run games like MapleStory though? |

QUOTE(0300078 @ Nov 22 2012, 11:46 AM) I give up the idea on purchasing this tablet after going online seeing some videos in youtube complaining about the build quality especially the problem with someone having defective stylus (or was it the screen problem) in 2 of his Samsung Activ Pro. Also one big problem is with ppl complaining about the keyboard getting disconnected frequently during typing and will required you to detach and reattach the tablet to get the thing working again. Hope the second batch will be better, or i think best and safest bet is to go with the Surface pro version. QUOTE(rhoyo @ Nov 22 2012, 11:49 AM) means the keyboard is not strong enough to attach with the tablet ? . maybe have to get the toshiba one There will always be bad applies, especially during the 1st few batches Let's wait for official reviews, hopefully local ones As for the Smart PC Pro, I'm sure it comes with keyboard |

QUOTE(farkingdom @ Nov 27 2012, 07:17 AM) I have read around and do read up pretty much a lot of WiFi issue. Just hoping that the issue is not on the hardware but the software. Why not you try contacting Acer and ask them about this? I am on a dilemma to get the ATIV Smart PC or this unit. Reason for this unit is simply the amazing i3 and full HD at such reasonable price. The Intel HD3000 (W700) and the Intel HD4000 (ATIV) are pretty powerful for an integrated GPU lol. The Intel HD4000 is a lot more powerful than the Intel HD3000, but both are still capable of running MapleStory and Startcraft 1 (even Startcraft 2, but at low graphic settings)Not trying to stray away from topic, but I would like to ask if the W700 is able to play older games such as Starcraft or MapleStory properly? And how is the heat after several hours of usage? |

QUOTE(kennji @ Nov 29 2012, 03:35 PM) still thinks the ATIV Smart PC Pro is the best bet for hybrid tablet category. hope samsung will improve on this platform with some extras, e.g. battery inside keyboard dock, less plasticky & GPS. until then i'll stick with my series 7 slate Agreed, the Smart PC Pro is still the best hybrid tablet in the market I'm pretty happy with the specs already to be honest haha~ But they could improve the keyboard, the keys are pretty shallow like in most thin and lights |

QUOTE(oszie @ Dec 4 2012, 06:15 PM) Quoted from Samsung FB: So until now this thread still don't have any Smart PC Pro owners? "Well, the delivery is screwed up again. HN just called me to tell me it will only arrive tomorrow because Samsung is going to deliver it together with the case." Look forward to a review haha |

QUOTE(nexus2238 @ Dec 19 2012, 08:29 PM) Thanks man My current Nikon D90 is struggling at night shots T_____T And I still can't really accept that the new DSLR I'm looking at can get an Illegear RS-15 liao Still, the ATIV Smart PC pro is very tempting too since it'll be much easier and nicer to draw on it compared to the Galaxy Note |

QUOTE(erszebeth @ Dec 23 2012, 01:50 AM) but TJ, do you think its worth it to spend 3k+ on that particular tab? is the windows OS is smooth and as fluid as the iOS on ipad >3 device? i've played with it before on samsung roadshow, but there's nothing inside the hybrid tab, no movies nor music as well as no internet connection, so its kinda difficult to test its performance. The RM2.5k ATIV Smart PC is enough for normal office tasks, music and movies. But if you are into some more serious designing applications, then the Smart PC Pro would be the better pick because i'm planning to buy the ATIV smart PC pro for myself. i owned galaxy tab p7500 before, sold it and go for ipad 3, but seldom use it,because i'm using my aging aspire one more. reason being, whenever i travel, i'll bring along my ext hdd with lots of anime etc inside, and watch it with my aspire one on the go, but i cant do it with my ipad 3, and now its collecting dust. i'm thinking of getting the PC pro, or the lower end samsung ATIV that comes with Windows RT,or grab used unit of mba 11" as both lies within the same price range (2k~2.5k). both suits my requirement, as both already equipped with standard usb port that can connect my ext hdd to the system. Being able to fit an i5 processor (even if its an ULV one) into a 11.6" hybrid is considered very impressive yo Personally I think that the ATIV Smart PC/ PC Pro are still the best hybrid convertible devices in the market, offering both flexibility and performance... and not to forget the great S-Pen! The SmartPC and Smart PC Pros are considered very cheap already if you intend to use them for on-the-go-and-not-hardcore-drawings... most screen drawing tablets costs more than RM6 for one This post has been edited by [PF] T.J.: Dec 23 2012, 01:58 AM |

QUOTE(erszebeth @ Dec 24 2012, 10:43 AM) yea.. most probably i am thinking of getting the ATIV smart pc for myself. but what really bother me is i have a netbook which possess similar hardware to the ATIV smart pc, so i'm afraid i'm gonna regret it. haha. thinking of getting the ATIV smart PC pro but the price jump is insane. uhuh. but from the video review, the Samsung 500T ATIV Smart PC performs quite well after being tested of running multi task etc. The ATIV Smart PC, like you said, sort of have similar CPU/GPU processing capabilities as your Netbook (assuming its powered by a Atom N550/580?); but it does offer more flexibility & portability (detachable), W8 touchscreen experience, and of course, snappier performance due to the SSD do you know which GPU is better, my netbook which is running on Intel GMA 3600 or the ATIV smart PC intel gpu model SGX545. source http://www.theverge.com/products/ativ-smartpc-500t/6038 According to (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html), the GPU performance is on par, if not slightly weaker than the Intel GMA3600. Although not suitable for games, its quite enough for normal usage, including movies etc. |

QUOTE(Nasuru @ Jan 5 2013, 10:48 AM) I want to buy Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro but need some answers. Yeah, it can operate 24 hours (with A/C of course) Is it designed to operate 24 hours? Can it handle the heat as I want to keep it in my pouch bag while its on? Or should I keep it in standy mode? Does it produce heat in standy mode? Can recieve SMS in stanby mode? Sorry for so many questions. Please PM me the price and where to get this. Why would you want to keep it on when placed inside your bag? O___o Its just like a phone, which maintains in standby mode whenever idled for too long.. Don't think it has SMS features |
