congratz for your great speed smile.gif

my speed now

user posted image

i think our speed is not full is becoz of business package , the seller register our plan under business package and share the speed

for 2 years ago , that time , my 3rd big bro , he using normal celcom rm99 , that is the best package that time (now rm138) , with speed & quota limit , got one time , the speed is ridiculous and damn high ping and line always unresponsive , he call go celcom and complaint , 1 day complaint 3 times , for about 1 week , after that his line become unlimited quota but with limited speed of 1mbps always , he's a ppl who watch movie all the time , dl movie 24/7 for whole month also no problems , but last year he did cancel the line edi , i did told him not to do so but now he regret for what he done - - lol

and now , i'm working at genting highlands here together with him , he did told me that last 2 months he go his friends room and see his friend maxis bb , he say his dl speed is always 1-2mb/s (average 16mbps edi) , his friend tell him it is turtle package 1 , dunno the further details anymore as my bro dunno got this turtle package to be buy lol

but i did try my turtle package here , using near 1 month edi , but speed is always 3-6mbps only , i think we need to register a normal package 1st , then give coffee $$ to maxis network staff and ask them to give us unlimited quota & speed

all of the statement above is just made out from my guesting only , i'm sorry if there is anything wrong

Celcom max out at 7.2Mbps, you mentioned 1MBps or 1Mbps ?

after all sort of the tweaks >>  dual carrier capable 42Mbps modem + tx power tweaked (with diy heatsink + fan cooling) + mdma band config (2100) + apn (maybe) + router (or double routers) with openwrt or ddrwrt flashed + panel or antenna , what would be the next poison ? brows.gif  flex.gif
*
Gigabit switches

brows.gif

MF680+Router dial in > signal travel via CAT6E LAN cable > Gigabit Switch ( converts the snail signal into Gigabit Channel Signal ) > Gigabit Enhanced router like WR1043ND > DDWRT Router > WiFi out.

Best is if you can flash DDWRT into a Gigabit LAN Port Router.

I strongly believe our signal is much more faster than what it is , just that we dun have the correct equipment to tap it, or rather enhance the "final last mile".

Stay tuned, i have just acquired a Gigabit Switch, will tell you guys the result soon brows.gif brows.gif

But if you wan to make it simple, just buy this MikroTik Router ,RB751G-2HnD

well Panel can really make my connection very close to wired broadband like,..

my RSSI similar like yours before adding panel too  notworthy.gif

Added on November 25, 2012, 4:21 am

yeah Panel is a must to include for sure  notworthy.gif
*
Chuah, your area have such GOOD RSSI ( signal) even a E1762 will be good enough, no need Panel or Dual Channel Modem. But mind you, Good signal = higher radiation risk, think carefully, good speed or good health is better ?

This is just a friendly reminder to all that although you dun have good speed, you will have a better health.

The Rakyat have been making noises when ever a Tower/Base Stn is built in their vicinity.

The most important thing on mobile broadband is that we must have consistent signal, no need high speed, the higher the speed the nearer is the tower/base station. You pick your choose. icon_idea.gif

My tower is abt 2~3km from my house, RSSI= +/- 90dbm , consider weak , i use various methods to enhance the Quality of my signal to keep my connection constant. A Panel Antenna is definately a good additional, same goes to having a router or 2 which is either DDWRT/OpenWRT flashed. Using USB3.0 extension cables do cut down some hardware interference between Modem and Router as experimented by our fren StevenLee. Using CAT6E cables also give it a better signal flow as proven by me but refuted by Chuah ( because his area have such good signal ( + radiation) ~ therefore a Cat5 or Cat6E cable dun matter much there as the signal ( + radiation) there is so much intense, he dun even feel the difference, maybe more headache and spurs of tantrums. tongue.gif

The most important thing is that Maxis must not cap your simcard cause if they cap it to 2Mbps, wat ever good RSSI/signal is useless. biggrin.gif

Not the mather of USB3 or USB2 extension

Get a EMI shielded USB extension nod.gif

You feel USB3 is better because USB3 99% is EMI shielded.

While I am using a 8MM thick EMI shielded USB extension sweat.gif
Can feel the difference VS my unshielded 2MM thick cable one
*
is it?

Now i knoe why, thanks.

@Chuah, see there is difference after all. You din feel the difference because you live in a super RSSI location.

To you anything also cannot fight with your good RSSI. Cables,DDWRT,Antenna. You are "very lucky" to live there.

QOS of 16000 can get speed of 15xxx, where in Boleland can get this. . I believe your area have very little insects like mosquitoes, cockroach and ants. You knoe why ? tongue.gif

thank you for your statement,

if im getting MR3420 V2, shall I flash DDRWT/OpenWRT?
usb extension stating here for use with soyabox method?
*
Currently, OpenWRT supports V1 only, V2 support not out yet

DDWRT is not friendly with USB 3G modems, however you can use a 3G router like V2 ( Custom FW) to LAN out to LAN port of a DDWRT router to enjoy Wireless Freedom and STABILITY .

Soya Box trick is still good if you knoe how to position it.

For extension cable, go for USB3.0 cable, i have tested with a 5meter cable, good to use.
