by the way , how to know my cell id location ? I tried to find with opensignalmaps , but it doesn't show the cell id I am looking for

can , it shows few tower cid , just that the one I frequent connect to is "invisible" , don't know hiding where , on top of kopitiam I suppose

yup with smartphone , open it and go to either 'Map' or "Cells' to view the CID

at least you can see the tower , me cannot spot any tower at my stay area if not for sure I will get antenna and aim cun-cun

after all sort of the tweaks >> dual carrier capable 42Mbps modem + tx power tweaked (with diy heatsink + fan cooling) + mdma band config (2100) + apn (maybe) + router (or double routers) with openwrt or ddrwrt flashed + panel or antenna , what would be the next poison ?

my current setup 680 + 3420 > cap ayam gigabit switch via cat6 cable to pc and i don't feel any

Sir , you are absolutely right about the CID . It is quite confirmed that the congested CID is the culprit .

My scenario :

1) with MF680 alone I will connect to either CID A or B or C ( all can get good speed but with lousy RSSI -81dBm )

2) with MF680 + panel , the combination always like to connect to CID D . When connected to this CID D , I can get better RSSI @ -61dBm but lousy speed ( at least 40% slower compare to CID A/B/C ) , highly suspect due to congestion as got college and student quarters nearby ) . By the way , I already pusing pusing the panel 360 degree , but mati-mati pun mau connect to this lousy tower cell which I do not understand why .

nope , I tried this trick , I hot-plug the panel but eventually it will hog to CID D , if I unplug then will revert to CID A/B/C , amazing is it

let me confirm again tonight , last night when tested with panel attached , no matter how I flipped it , test at balcony , underneath the table , still 'die-die' want to connect to CID D .

the weird thing is CID D location can be identified in my opensignalmaps ( feel like want to tumble the tower actually if I got the hercules strength ) , but I could not locate CID A/B/C in opensignalmaps .
Is there a tower only for data transmission purpose but not for calling ?

my lousy CID D speed at the moment (8.20pm peak hour) , seems ok tonight will try to connect to 'star' CID A/B/C and see how

wah , back to 52kb era , what had happened ?

frutie , I believe you connected to less congested tower . from what I experienced , in my case , the tower that nearer to my house is highly congested despite with good rssi , thus I avoid it like a plague . while the other 3 towers ( not in my sight , don't know where they are ) could easily get me 40 - 50% higher speed despite with lousy rssi .

by the way , i want to thx chua for pointing out cell id ( the culprit ) and this has clear my doubt why I get good rssi but lousy speed and vice versa . at the moment , I don't tweak my tx power and I don't use panel ( which always direct me to the nearest tower ) .

maxis seems to be very generous lately , the skmm also given 1GB for rm25 with 30days validity , last time only 750mb

rm20 for unlimited , worth it

what did maxis do ?

foresee many upcoming dispute cases if it is true because many resellers promised macam-macam , some said won't get capped & unlimited for 2 year time , some even said forever
