The Vermaelen line up should be the one, can't possibly start Gibbs in such a short time after recovery.
Anyway, Chamberlain on left this time

Even though it's a drawn or possibly lost game at least we showed that we're up for the game. I feel much happier for such performance than last week's against Villa where everyone looks so slow. We pushed forward a lot yesterday with Wilshere in the middle of the park but was let down by our abysmal defending. Sagna's committed a few deadly errors too, maybe he wash rushed too much to play in such competitive game for his age.
Our defense got run over by Jelavic and Fellaini so much it's not even funny, lucky for us that Jelavic's missed a few golden opportunities there. Cazorla was poor yesterday, wasn't at his best as he couldn't even slip a through pass and had a few misplaced while conceding possession, understandingly so given the fact that he has played full games since the beginning of the season and Spain friendlies. Ramsey was inconsistent again but going forward he's shown slight improvement and has kept his work rate high but really sad with him, no longer the player he was since his horrible injury. Giroud had a forgettable night... nowhere to be seen and that cross for Gervinho was so high, what's he thinking Walcott once again put up a respectable performance, what a brilliant finish to the top right corner. |

If we lose Theo, we have to make sure that we will get a better replacement and he musn't leave cheap, given the fact that he's British and we have bred him to the player he is today.
Hopefully Wenger will stop playing Chamberlain on the flanks and put him back the in the middle. His brightest match was the one against AC Milan where he played the CM role. Perhaps he can play as AM/CM with Wilshere, push Cazorla to the left where he spent most of his career playing, then rotate Giroud and Poldi in the middle so that our attack isn't so one dimensional like now. The understanding between players are very important, with the both being English players and seeing them hanging around together all the time in training, a chemistry might be just formed in our midfield. If they can build a relationship like that of Xavi Hernandez and Andre Iniesta, they might just be the brightest pair midfielders in the BPL. |

As I've always said, this will be a revolutionary year for Arsenal. The harder we're hit this year, the bigger change will come.

QUOTE(undentifyxd @ Dec 2 2012, 01:52 AM) we once bid 35 millions for gotze and 32 millions for hazard so i think there is a possibility of arsene to spend at most 40 millions for one player.... Falcao already out of reach.. minimum 50 millions for that guy... Rumours man, rumours. We all know our way of spending, do you really think we will bid that much for some young, unproven players in BPL?i will wait till the end of january and see which player will come to arsenal if arsene buy an unknown or mediocre player i think we r done for this season |

I have been reiterating how poor we were since our loss to Norwich despite showing flashes of brilliance in the game against Spurs. I don't really want to blame the players, they to have the quality do challenge for top 4 (just that) but the way we've played, I know we will be in worse situation, it was just a matter of time and now it has hit us.
At least when we lose, I want to see a good performance put up by our players, show that they worked hard for it but no, we had nothing. We simply didn't want to win, we don't know how to win and no longer know the feeling of winning. The players haven't lifted a trophy in 7 years and yet the manager never stopped saying his desire to just qualify for top 4. Saw a post from Arsenal which I wholeheartedly concur with: QUOTE(Dakaka (ArsenalMania)) His stubborness and determination to prove to people that he's right is his/is going to be his downfall in my opinion. The way he's conducting himself at this point in time show signs of a man under pressure, and perhaps a man who's age has caught up with him. For all the faults of Ferguson, Mancini and such, they at least try new things and experiment with the squad - not just player wise, but tactically as well. Wenger has been playing the EXACT same formation for years and years now. Now, this wouldn't be such a problem if the player material was there for it, but it isn't. Transfer wise, it's always 1 step forward and 2 steps back. Perhaps that's not the fault of Wenger - we don't know - but he's unwillingness to try something different is a real problem. He used to be an absolute wizard in the transfer market. The invincibles were for the most part (in my opinion) so exceptional because of the player material, not the tactics. It was a team consisting of a world class defence inherited from your former manager, a world class midfield with some of the best midfielders of all time and arguably the 2 best forwards the PL has ever seen up top! His tactics have always been reliant on massive player ability. There's an emphasis on ability rather than tactics. He simply doesn't have the resources to be able to put the focus on ability anymore. It's for that reason, combined with his stubborness, that is say yes, he's peaked as a manager for Arsenal. This post alone explains how our team fell apart since invincibles era. We no longer have players with qualities that will keep us in the game despite playing with shit tactics. This is also another reason why Barcelona can still win so much, the foundation that is laid, the quality of their players, however they play they will be playing at the top level. The difference between Barcelona and Arsenal from invincibles era is that our players leave, theirs don't. This post has been edited by JustForFun: Dec 2 2012, 11:08 PM |

Not to forget that ey didn't even have their best player on pitch - Pablo Hernandez who caused all kind of problems against Liverpool.

Wenger was never the no-nonsense, strict type of manager. We've always heard from the players that during half time, he usually gives out words of encouragement instead of throwing harsh words at them.
His reluctance to sub off player kind of show that he's a forgiving person despite a player making many errors but recent pressure on him has brought out some characters from him, shown by subbing off Podolski early @ 60 odd minutes. |

Out of all the opponents Malaga and PSG should be the easier ones. The others are way too strong for us. Heck even Malaga and PSG can run over us easily.

Very likely for Rosicky to start since Wenger brought him off in CL game. After he regained his form last year it's a joy to watch him play. He's probably the most imaginative passing player in our team, dare to pass to the front unlike most of our players who backpass all the time.
Hopefully he'll play AMF and let Cazorla play on the wings, our weakest department... |

It's clearly a dive and I don't like it when our players dive. It's sad but without the two penalties I'm not sure if we can win the game, Giroud and Gervinho were poor as crap and Podolski came on to miss two sitters...
Only positive is our midfield is creating chances, hopefully we'll get a proven striker soon. |

As usual, gotta say I've always stated that this will be the year Arsenal and Wenger suffer but we will also see big changes kicking in... Good luck Wenger, if he'd ever be the longest serving manager to be sacked in history.

We have no choice but to look at youngsters but nowadays it seems that Wenger is reluctant to risk and try playing youngsters like Eisfield, Akpom or Gnabry.
I think he should risk it now rather than relying on the likes of Gervinho or Ramsey who are just shit. |
