QUOTE(asm@m @ Nov 10 2012, 07:44 PM)
So, is his asking price for the used D7000 kit reasonable?
Since idk the current street price for used D7000 kit.

And with D5100, I got new body and Nikon warranty.

Thanks
*
since he's your friend.. ask him to let u play2 with it first.. confirm you'll fell in love with it. IMO it's better to go with D7000, the feel of the body itself is already solid. A new D7k would cost RM 3600-3800 with kitlens.

i am looking for a dslr for myself....i am targeting nikon d7000. can anyone tell me what are the offers for that?
*
hi, i bought D7K around 1 month ago. RM3530 body + kitlens + 8gb card + nikon bag. I'd advise just buy body n kitlens only from shop, as they might con you on the accessory. biggrin.gif

QUOTE(tongweng @ Nov 25 2012, 02:26 AM)
thats what i thought, btw what do u mean by might con on the accessory? u mean they will give bad quality bags and cards?
*
they might offer u cheap body+kitlens.. then sell u overpriced UV filter, overpriced SD card tongue.gif P/S: i got cheated for extra 50 bucks for UV filter sweat.gif the bags n cards not to worry though.. bag is nikon and mostly cards r usable. haha

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Nov 25 2012, 03:00 AM)
maybe, or usually those "bundle" price if you calculate carefullly it is not cost so much.

and free stuff usually is ahem...
*
true.

QUOTE(dvlzplayground @ Nov 25 2012, 12:30 PM)
i'd buy online if i were u tongue.gif

i think the main point here is, even if u want to buy from a shop and not sure if they're trustworthy or not, just buy the camera and lens kit and that's all. bag and SD card should be free.

it's when they start to offer you 'packages' like tripod or adapter this and filter that, for 'a good price', you should say NO.

they know it's easy for people to compare prices on the core stuff like camera and lenses so they cant con about those. people dont really know about adapters and filters and tripods so that's where they take advantage
*
yup.. i was caught offguard also because didn't know the market price for the filters. shakehead.gif

too many thing to take note if buying online...i will continue doing survey first XD....waiting for my d7k slowly

Added on November 25, 2012, 2:49 pmi stay near kL so i think i might buy it at lowyat since i always get my computer gadget from there.
*
yea.. if pricing is ok then just get at lowyat.. but normally lowyat price it isn't that good. even when i ask around for d90, they quote me 2.8-2.9K. maybe u wanna try the shop in Sg wang/BB plaza, forgot the name though, there's a shop in pudu plaza also. buy online just buy from trusted seller loh. if price is tooo good to be true then be careful. tongue.gif

QUOTE(MrAkay @ Dec 5 2012, 02:34 PM)
sad.gif ya lah, have to wait patiently for them to fix it
D = got aperture ring at the lens mount. cannot be used on d5200/d3200. classic lens
G = gilded lens, no aperture ring at mount. can be used d7000 above only

in terms of image quality, u can checkout flickr groups or google.
*
aiks.. i tot G can be used will those entry level dslr as well?

QUOTE(tongweng @ Dec 5 2012, 02:47 PM)
that means G is only can be use by d7000 or later model?

btw thanks for the information
*
the main diff is prolly price tongue.gif D lenses have no AF motor, you'll need dslr that have AF motor on the body, in this case D7K is one of them. entry level model, D3100,3200,5000 all that doesn't have motor build in body, so they need lenses that have motor in them, can be identified by AF-S word on the lens. AF/AF-S all also D7K can use. i never tested both lens, as i only have the D version. anyway from what i know image quality don't differ much, maybe AF speed and noise the G lenses is better.

QUOTE(MrAkay @ Dec 6 2012, 06:55 PM)
the gist of it, a lens that has constant aperture like f2.8 will always be more expensive then variable aperture like f3.5-5.6

but also got beza in terms of how many elements (the glass inside) it has, built quality, weather sealing, nano coat etc
example is nikon 24mm 2.8D is around rm1400. but Nikon 24mm F1.4 is RM6k+

confusing at first lah cos alot of info to absorb. give it abit more time then it wouldnt be a problem edi, only problem is the creative side smile.gif technical side can kowtim
*
true.. one can have the best theory and technical info abt photography but fail to take outstanding picture. tongue.gif

tong weng.. i guess u just shoot around with ur kitlens first.. and see what u notice. wat's the limitation of that lens, then u will naturally learn what u need n such already for your next lens.
