Mercedes-Benz Unveils New SL350 Roadster

KUALA LUMPUR, (Bernama) -- Daimler AG division Mercedes-Benz Cars officially launched the new Mercedes-Benz SL350 in Malaysia at the Matrade Exhibition and Convention Centre here Friday.

The SL series began in the early 1950s as a racing car and due to the enormous interest, Mercedes-Benz decided to build the road-going version of the SL and 60 years later, they revealed to the market the seventh-generation SL, the SL350.

'SL' literally means super light, and the new SL weighs up to 140 kg less than its predecessor.



Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sales and Marketing Passenger Cars Vice-President Kai Schlickum said there are many improvements to this generation of the SL.

"Three key elements that stand out are the lightweight chassis, which is all-aluminum, that is good for the sporty and dynamic feel of the car but also enhances the fuel economy and drive dynamics of the vehicle.
