mine i did on 1.3k km.. once above 1.5k km the free labour charge 1st service coupon
attach on the service book will be not usable, according to 4S SC Setapak..
*
I did my first service @ 1.8k km instead last time..no harm done & still can use the 1st service coupon.

Anyway, dont exceed 2k km for the first service as the service coupon & the car's warranty might void...

If during morning/cold start....that is absolutely normal...those are call 'cold' smoke....for engine/exhaust system which is healthy will have this....after engine warmed up it will dissapear...
*
Got term 'cold smoke' mehh? I called it water vapour tongue.gif

It is normal to see this water vapour (white smoke) especially in cold weather (morning usually)..u also might see water droplet in the exhaust tip due to condensation process. Complete combustion produced water. So if u see this water vapour in the morning, it means that your engine is combusting well wink.gif

Bro 16" it's lighter and more comfy. My savvy last time 15" using profile 55 tyres.. The rim so easy bengkok and koyak.. Malaysia isn't a suitable place for low profile. If Kia would allow i might want to opt for 195/60/15 or 195/65/15 tyres.. the widest in 15" range.
*
As stated in the user's manual, Forte can use 16" & 15" rims also. For 16" rims, use 205/55 tires as recommended & for 15" rims, use 195/65 tires. But to find 16" & 15" rims with PCD 114.3 x 5 stud for Forte might be a tough job for u tongue.gif

Anyway, i've downgraded my rims to 16" also whistling.gif

Hi, do you know where i can find one piece of forte rim only? and how much does it cost? I saw online that other are selling used 17 inch but not forte. How can I know whether are they suitable?

I know very little about car, appreciate if any sifu can advise.

Last, I have owned forte for 2 years. I have cracked one rim and cracked 4 tyres. All tyres cracked on the side so cannot repair. Before that I drive Kembara and never has this problem. Is it that forte rim is too low, and I shall change to other type of rim?
*
Not Forte rims is too low..but the tire profile used is 215/45/17 which is a low profile tire (low profile tires usually give less protection to rims when u masuk lubang..lol)

Your spare rim & tire is still in good condition right? Just use your spare rim & tire..no need to find a single piece of Forte original rim. Just buy 1 piece of 2nd hand rim & tire to replace your spare rim & tire...

what is the advantage of using 15 or 16 inch rim?
*
Provided that u buy a lighter (lightweight) rims, u will get significantly comfy ride, better acceleration, better FC especially for town driving & not to mention the cheaper tire price than the 17" tire. Also i'm less fear if got hole on the road now..last time when use the stock 17" rims, in order to save my rims, i keep swaying left & right to avoid the holes on the road (which is a dangerous maneuver sometime).

But..there is always a but, by downgrading the rims & tires, u might sacrifice a bit on road grip & handling & also the overall styling (looks) of the car sweat.gif

For the tire profile, is that the standard profile for Forte? Or can I change to another type of profile which give more protection? If yes, what will be the profile?

My spare rim is still good. I am now using the spare rim. For the 2nd hand backup rim, I can just buy any 17 inch rim or what is the specification?
*
Yupp..that's the recommended profile for the 17" rim. Increasing the tyre profile (while still using the 17" rims) will give an effect to the car's speedometer & odometer reading, might also alter with handling characteristic & the risk of the tire 'touching' the fender in some situation. The car might look weird also i believe... rolleyes.gif If u want to increase tire profile, downgrade to 16" is the way to go in which u can use 55 profile tire...

To replace the spare rims, buy any 17", 16" @ 15" rim with PCD 114.3 x 5 stud (holes) will do (of course with suitable tire profile)..it's meant for temporary use anyway.

Yaa..by experiencing it yourself, is the best 'definition' for handling i believe...

is all 4 speeder cbu? or only first 100unit??
*
Nope..not all. Mostly the CBU unit coming from the first batch of Forte 1.6 & 2.0. Not sure the actual figure though..just a few hundreds only if i'm not mistaken. U can recognise a CBU Forte by looking at the chassis number (located at a left lower part of the front windshield). If the chassis number starts with letter 'K' (written in white with black background), it is a CBU Forte. If the letter starts with 'P' (written in black with white background), it is a CKD unit nod.gif

I think the original design it will alert us when seat belt not inserted. Some how cost saving or naza lazy to pasang and didn't set this up.
*
I believe that it is our responsiblity to wear the seatbelt each time we drive our cars. So whether the Forte should or should not have the seatbelt warning light/buzzer is irrelevant, at least for me. I also strongly believe that for some people who doesn't like to wear the seatbelt while driving (especially on short trip) will prefer the current setup.

Actually i prefer the current setup too (no seatbelt warning light/buzzer if we did not wear the seat belt). I took my own case for example when i drive my wife's Preve. Sometime i wanna bring my children pusing2 the residential area or go to the nearby playground by driving the Preve. I found out that it is quite annoying when the seatbelt buzzer sounds. Not that i dont want to wear the seatbelt, but for that very short & slow journey in the residential road, for me it is more convinience not to wear the seatbelt icon_rolleyes.gif

Planning to get a 1.6EX. Just few simple question for those who have this car. I haven't tested drive yet as the showroom doesn't provide test drive  during holiday or Sunday sweat.gif. Wondering is the engine sound loud when we hear by sitting in the car? So far I have tested Mirage, the engine sound is too loud from inside. And Almera is incredibly silent but seriously it's under power even compared to Mirage.

Hope someone can clear me up without having to scold me "noob" sad.gif
*
Bro..u better go for test drive & hear it by yourself so that u can make a fair comparison. Engine sounds loud or not is too subjective..someone might feel quiet enough, but others might feel the other way round tongue.gif

If u ask this in Kia Forte thread, the answer will surely bias towards Kia tongue.gif

Did u know bro cybermaster98? very well known in this LYN Korean car threads & also in Paultan blog. Last time, he is the one who heavily criticized Korean cars (Forte in this case) & the Nazakia SC. He keep emphasizing on how reliable his Toyota Vios is & how well Toyota SC is performing, cheaper spare parts..bla..bla..bla. But in the end, truth be told, he bought himself the new Kia Optima K5 tongue.gif I dont know how he got that inspirational to buy a Kia car whistling.gif
