Using my car for 10 days. 2 things want to ask:
1. My carboot little bit hard to close. Is it normal for new forte or it just mine. The sound also not as padu as closing persona m-line carboot

2. Power window (driver side only) having this "clack" sound when i try to pull the switch after the window is fully shut

I already changed to 50 profile with sport rim..lighter than stock rim..suddenly butterfly in my stomach  tongue.gif
but if you change to 55 surely you have to change tyre & rims to 205/55/r16..

For no 1. if you used auto car boot lifter (the spring), then it a bit hard to close..based on the spring setting..
If i'm not mistaken from previous thread, can set the rubber or this one just for bonnet??
*
Only bonnet having this problem..should i complain to sc or not?.hmm

Your issue no. 1.. I've mentioned on the prev thread.. notice beneath the boot there are 2 black rubber plugs/knobs.. ? with tiny little arrow sign.. ? you can turn or twist both of it clockwise direction using your hand so that it lowers the distance from the bumper and boot latch (easier or less effort to push boot down to close).. turn them counterclockwise if u prefer more push downforce to close the boot.. make sure both position are equal and both side boot gaps are aligned with the rear taillamp..

Your issue no. 2. where did the sound exactly comes from.. ? the upper window or internal door panel?

Thanks for the tips on issue no.1 sifu Ah_Bear.

Issue no.2: sound come from internal door panel. Quite loud. Uhukk

Guys, wanna ask the central locking system. Once they car start moving all 4 doors will auto lock within 20 sec.....SO WHEN the car is MOVING (regardless what spend), when you press the unlock button or even TRYING on any single door, it will LOCK back instantly.

IS THIS NORMAL ? Due to security ? Worry driver or passenger just out of car ? biggrin.gif
*
Normal bro. autolock at 15km/h. my SA told me child under 12 should not be allowed to seat infront due to safety purpose. And for safety at the back please use child lock.

I think the door lock at driver and front passenger can be easily unlock also for safety reason. in case ur car crashed or terbalik or worst the electronic malfunctioning then can easily open the door. hmm.gif
But if the passenger or driver (ADULT!!) suddenly open the door when the car is moving, they must be really genius. whistling.gif

Your help is much needed.

Anyone encountered this windscreen crack just after a week drive?
Yesterday heard a sound like been hitting by a stone, come from nowhere (no car in front).  cry.gif
I doubt it is bcoz of stone, is it possible bcoz of manufacturer defect? Why so soft then? rclxub.gif
Can I claim warranty?

Arrghhhhhhh!! Everyone deserve to drive with peace of mind.. doh.gif

Your SA advised you to cover 1k?
As informed by my SA, forte windscreen is 1.5k.
So it is advised to cover at least 1.5k or above.
*
really? hmm.gif
then if need to replace WS i need to topup la hmm.gif
Hopefully it will not happen to me. sweat.gif

But then if lot of ppl having manufacturing defect, naza should take more serious onto this matter right?
SA always say to me that naza kia warranty covers all except 3 things, Tyre, Spring, Battery. Something is not right there.

I want to ask, anyone here 1st time buying car? May I know how much is your annual insurance payment? I was charged RM2200 per annum without front wind screen.. Some of my frens drove vios which similar to that pricing of forte, their annual insurance payment only less than RM2k for 1st timer..

Can anyone clarify this? unsure.gif
*
normally insurance payment is based on sum insured. If your frens vios insurance is cheaper then the sum insured must be lower than your forte. you need to double check with your frens insurance policy and details.
This is from what i understand lah. haha

If u r a city driver and everyday gona jam on the road and aso u care bout the fc! Forte wont be ur choice..
Really a bad fc for city drive with traffic jam.
*
Totally agree!. I'm driving 99% city drive (consider federal hiway as city drive since everyday also jem.huhh!). my average FC is 10.5~11L/100km.
But if u consider overall package that comes with Forte its worth the price to compare with the same range of price "T-V***" "N-AL****" "H-C***" . nod.gif
If FC is ur main concern here please go get viva wink.gif

Insurance premium is calculated firstly based on your cc

For 1400 cc and below , first RM1000 sum insured, premium is RM237.35
For 1650 cc and below , first RM1000 sum insured, premium is RM265.00

Every subsequent RM1000 sum insured, the premium is RM26.

As such for Forte 1.6SX, for sum insured RM82,000 :
First 1000 =  RM265
Subsequent RM81000  = 81 X RM26 = RM2,106
Hence total = RM2371
Add stamp duty RM 10
Grand total = RM2381.00
*
There you go!..All Facts you needed

thanks bro!

Need some guidance from all the sifus here. I found that the gear knob area ( so called center console,i guess) tends to become hot after drive (when i place my hand to feel it). It feels warm to be exact. Is this normal?
*
QUOTE(kailord @ Jan 9 2013, 12:05 AM)
If feels warm, it's normal.

But if it feels hot, this is a known issue. I've read in MFC forum where in some batch, the console becomes hot during a drive. SC should be able to install insulator for free, under warranty.
*
hmm.gif mine too. I guess its normal My sister's persona also bit warm at that area.
will check with sc during my 1k service and ask for free insulator. thumbup.gif

Hi all, i went for 2nd service last 2 weeks (fully syn) but can feel the throttle response not as good as before before did my 1st service. current odo 36++. need to press the pedal harder to get more response & can hear unidentified sound (not sure from where, i guess from the engine bay) forte sifus, any idea what is wrong with mine or is it normal. for more info, fuel used either shell or petronas (ron 95). The difference quite significant even my wife can notice "knp enjin mcm berat, tak macam dulu.

QUOTE(V12Kompressor @ Jan 10 2013, 02:41 PM)
whats the oil viscosity used currently and previously?
*
QUOTE(mzaamohd45 @ Jan 10 2013, 02:48 PM)
For 1st service, used mineral oil & 2nd service fully syn. Not sure the grade bcoz my wife took it for the 2nd service
*
Maybe its related with type off engine oil u use.
BTW, my fren suggest me to use RON 97 right after service. only use 1 time full tank. It can improve the engine performance right after service. I never try it. maybe will try after my 1k service.

if its related to of engine oil use, meaning mineral oil is better than fully syn? Coz after 1st service using mineral oil, no such issue. fc quite acceptable (9-10l/100km 100% city drive). but now using fully syn, acceleration not so responsive & fc now jump to 11.8l/100km. im expecting better engine performance with fully syn but it is another way around.
*
I think its more to oil viscosity. not minereal or fully syn...
