I was gonna get a Vita, but then i realised that the only good games are gravity daze, persona 4 and virtue's last rewards.

So i decided to get a 3DS instead cuz i'm a sucker to english translated japanese games. However, i'm not so sure what's the price for the 3DS atm.

So what is the average price of 3DS nowadays? Can anyone recommend me the places to buy a cheap and nice 3DS with great packages for games?

Anyone wanna recommend me jrpgs for 3ds too? I need some help to pick. I love layton games and ace attorneys too.

Since we're here in this topic, would someone advice against me on not to buy 3DS and choose Vita instead? State reason plox.

The main reason i want a 3DS is to get VLR, AA 5, Layton 5+6, Layton VS AA and Fire Emblem,

while i want the vita for games such as Gravity Daze, P4, VLR, Ragnarock Odyssey. (More games to recommend?) rclxms.gif

none of the games that you want to play having a US release yet except for virtue's last reward...
pick your own poison
is not like you need to be Einstein to choose which one is better
3ds xl around 800-900
3ds around 600-700

But most of them are deemed to get a US release by next year, so i wont worry much. Layton 5 is released, 6 probably next next year. P4 is also released? not so sure yet. AA 5 will probably get a US release yet, just not sure when. Fire Emblem US release early next year ><

Is the gameplay for 3ds xL a lot more different than 3ds? As in bigger screen size = more fun?

No extra games nothing? doh.gif Wanted a bundle too...

What colours are available for XL in msia now?

And how much does it usually cost for a game? Any renting services available here in msia?

Both of these systems are fairly new and their library of games are still expanding. I have a VITA and a 3DS and PERSONALLY (don't bash me) I like my vita more, I believe that the Vita is more suited to adult gamers or the more than casual gamer whereas the 3DS is suited for "kiddos" as andrew said. Don't get me wrong though, there are a lot of games on the 3DS that are suited for gamers like KI and KH3D to name a few. Still, it boils down to that. Also, something that drove me to buy a vita was how I wouldn't need to worry about cartridges because I get my games digitally. If I needed a game out of my PSN region, I'll get the game on the card because there is no region locking on the vita.

THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, PLEASE DON'T BASH ME.

Colours US
Red Black
Silver Black

Colours Japan
Red Black

These are all the colors that I know are available. Check Pbbseller's Thread.

Games range from RM75-135(US)
Games range from RMRM130-210(JP)

Also, I know a renting service from a guy named jitu.unggul, here is his thread.

i see an interesting disscussion smile.gif

the most comment i read online is people saying not much game for vita
or a lot of ported game but very little close to none original stuff...
and once in awhile there's people saying there's a lot of games that suit them on vita..

now is not like in the past where we need to depend on magazine to release insider news on new games
we can basically see at least half a year a head for future release...
if there's anything interesting most probably we already know.. i just felt that the chance for vita to suddenly burst out with lots of AAA title in the next year is quite low...
if Vita does not coming with lots of good title next year when will it chance to shine by that time it's entering second year d... wait some more and it will be too late

my wish is ninty or sony can do a day one release for all region then having multiple region will not be an issue anymore
or just a guarantee release of the game for all region... ><"
i dont really see the point for happy with no region lock... if they are really kind mind as well just release the freaking game for us here...

I don't get why Nintendo has to do region locking but Sony doesn't. -.- If region lock were to be abandoned by Nintendo, then Sony would be in real trouble...
Yeah, I would have to agree, almost all the Vita's game are generic, whereas the 3ds' games are more "unique", the serious games on the 3ds are more targeted to RPG and JRPG fans.

TBH the only reason why i'm not getting the Vita is that the only games i'm interested atm is vlr, p4 and gravity rush. Not many games yet, on the other hand, 3ds have 2 more layton games, AA 5 , Layton vs AA (mind you they're not really games for children). Not to mention the new fire emblem game is gonna be released next year in NA! Have you seen the trailer, it's really cool. New pokemon games are most likely to be released for the 3ds too :3

I didn't say there were no "games for children" for Ninty's 3DS, I'm just trying to say there are more "not games for children" on the Vita.

I didn't say there was no "more than casual" games on the 3DS, infact, I even stated some. And again, these types of games are not really mainstream and only appeal to those who like the genres.

one of the main problem with vita is the proprietary memory card which is bloody pricey.... whereas 3ds just use standard sd card.. now nintendo is kinda pushing for digital download games like many 1st party are already either scheduled for eshop version release or are already available now. hopefully 3rd party will also push it too.. besides, the size isn't that large... i think the largest one is bravely default flying fairy on japan eshop which is about 1.9 gb.

Yep, I had to fork out RM260 just for a measly 32gb, whereas I could get a standard 32 Class4/6 SD Card for around RM100. Sony is really milking the shit outta the Vita.

To be honest, yeah. I am using an R4. But still, you don't have to buy every single game you want. Buy one, play it, sell it. And then buy the other one. That's a viable option for you. That was my plan for 3DS games but I was tired of buying and selling and keeping cards around, that's why I just get 'em digitally. I get my money by doing oddjobs around the neighbourhood and earn here and there.

But isn't the digital versions are priced the same as the retail ones?

I need not buy all the classics such as SF, Mario and Zelda cz I have a 60's adult who also have a 3DS and he is a true fan since the N64 thus he has those games haha.. I just need to buy KH, KI and RE.

True.. If I rent it then I have to return within a set time where buying will be more worth it then cz I have so many games to play but so little time. Work and study and play. sad.gif
