I also got (different session though) http://www.flickr.com/photos/williamleong/...7230251/detail/
Shot mostly with Minolta 85mm vyruzj, nice set. the 50mm gives quite a distracting bokeh no? This post has been edited by lwliam: Nov 20 2012, 10:55 AM |

At first I thought its a typo, but I think you're referring to 35mm instead of 3.5mm

QUOTE(geek8585 @ Dec 5 2012, 06:02 PM) ohh... zaloon it is... i also bought my set over there.. 'constant f/4' means that at the widest aperture, no matter that focal length you're at, the aperture will still maintain at f/4. the kitlens for example isn't constant aperture, as at 16mm, it's f/3.5 and when zoomed to 50mm, it will be f/5.6thanks for your sharing.. ahaha... just want to get the info Added on December 5, 2012, 6:05 pm LOL.. i was suprise as it is "constant" at F4 mar... sorry, im still a new learner you have a pretty impressive collection for a 'new learner' This post has been edited by lwliam: Dec 5 2012, 08:47 PM |

QUOTE(merchant9 @ Dec 6 2012, 02:18 AM) Curious question. You're comparing apples and oranges here... it should be Sony vs Canon, not Zeiss vs Canon.. big no no... unless you're talking Zeiss vs L lens. Why Sony doesn't make any lens wider than f1.8? Considering the Zeiss is only f1.8 priced at 3.4k.. Canon 50mm f1.4 is only 1.5k. Sony quite expensive eh? Furthermore, I believe you're referring to the Canon's 50mm EF lens right? FYI, Sony's SAL 50mm f/1.4 is RM1.2k in the market, RM1.4k RRP.. Do the math. |

Nic, the Micro adjust is to adjust minute focusing errors (back focusing). It's very very helpful for situations you're facing. Read up on it and do it yourself to correct the focusing issue.
If you need help, come over to Sunway tonight, we go yum cha, I'll help u with it. To confirm if my guess is right, do this, disable phase detect in the camera.. That will drop it back to Contrast detect AF. Take a shot again to see if the focusing error is still there. If my guess is right, the focus should be spot on now. Which means you need to do the micro adjustments in order for you to utilize phase detect without back focusing. This post has been edited by lwliam: Dec 9 2012, 01:03 PM |

For KL ppl. How about an outing for street shoot? Since NEX is the perfect candidate for that. Petaling Street is a popular (albeit an overshot) location. KL Bird Park (tele lenses optional but preferred).
Still open for suggestions. |

QUOTE(calapia @ Jan 12 2013, 04:38 PM) hi calapia, nice of you to share some photos photo doesn't seem to have a prominent subject, probably the next time you could try to utilize the rules of third for framing a subject in your image, and try to get your shot to 'tell' a story. In this shot, you could have probably tried to go nearer in front of the people in the scene and shoot, with the boats and sea as the background. That would make a more interesting shot. Careful of your framing as well, you could have also 'cropped' away the half-boat on the right before pressing the shutter. Straight horizon though |
