My wife has a woman insurance from HLA.
It covers womanly diseases and also chidlbirth. It also doubles up as a investment plan to buy their shares.
The childbirth doesn't cover your medical fees but they consider it as a childbirth gift. You can get up till 5% of your insured amount when you give birth (and stay in a hospital).
I.e. if my wife is covered for RM300,000, when delivery, can claim RM3,000 a day stay in hospital. Max 5 days. Max 3 kids. But you can only claim one year after you sign up the package.
Also if there is complications and etc, those are different claims. Not sure if it covers hospitalisation for complications etc.
Nice info mates. Never know about that. Will try to sign up for it. At least, RM3,000 (assuming insured for RM300,000) is already half of the fees of giving birth fees at MOST (not all) of the private hospital in Malaysia.
