QUOTE
HP ENVY SPECTRE XT

The Envy Spectre XT is a good Ultrabook on its own, and an even better one when you consider how HP improved upon the already-appealing Envy 14 Spectre. A refined, responsive touchpad, even brisker performance and a more palatable price make this a prime contender for the contents of your wallet. Unimpressive battery life and weak audio dampen our enthusiasm slightly, but ultimately the XT is one of the best Ultrabooks available right now

Thanks ^ ^ Well they rate it at 8 hours, but real world test from my side shows the win 7 battery indicator says it can last up to 4 and a half hours. I had the wifi turned on, brightness was at about 40%.

It's still huge upgrade from my dell E6400 with its 2.5 hours max battery life. The guys at the office were wondering why after lunch hour I already start to pack away my laptop charger. laugh.gif

Starcraft II runs smooth on low, from my eyes I estimate 60FPS. It defaults to low because it's not recognized by the program.

Teamfortress 2 runs @ 80-90 FPS

CS:Source runs @ 120 FPS

Diablo III runs smooth as well, also defaults to low. I didn't push the settings up.

Back in the middle of the year people have been saying to wait for the Intel HD 4000 instead of getting the 3000, claiming that the graphics capability is a significant increase. They were right. The integrated graphics chip outperforms the nvidia geforce 610m in many tests.

Tip! if you intend to game a lot on this, get a notebook cooler with fans on the far side. The warmest part of the ultrabook is directly below the screen, instead of the keyboard.

2nd tip : DO NOT insert dummy SD cards into the memory card slot to "protect" it from dust! I tried and got it stuck inside for a scary 5 minutes.

I game mostly on my desktop so this one will mostly serve as work laptop. It'll be perfect for quick gaming sessions though brows.gif

oh and on another note, the logo :

You know, when I first saw the logo I immediately thought of this :

RM 3399 @ One Utama HP concept store.

The XPS 13 is a strong choice as well, but it doesn't fit my requirements. I need Ethernet jack built-in since I'm a network and firewall engineer. I don't want to work with RJ45 dongles.

So that rules out the XPS 13 for me.
