Hi guys, I've been trying to get into SC2 and have been in contact with Blizz customer support for these few days. Apparently my account is unable to purchase the SEA copy because in the SEA market place, there is no SC2 available. I was wondering if you guys got hold of your copies from stores or other websites? Sorry mods if I post in the wrong spot.

EDIT: Oh, if anyone can link me to the SEA bundle with US server version, much appreciated.

dead? means most of sea player actually play in US server instead? i also facing the same problem.. i couldn't find sea version in digital copy.. i've been thinking to get sea version since im quite worried about the latency.. if no prob with latency and most of sea player is playing in us server, i maybe go for US ver which is cheaper..

I cant even see the HoTS ungrade. I'm not sure. I asked Blizz support and they say they're working on it. But the euro blizz store has it and it's 40 euros.

No bundle pack as far as I could see. You would need to purchase WoL first (60USD) THEN the HotS upgrade (40USD for the standard edition or 60USD for the digital deluxe).

If you're using prepaid on WoL, too bad, because you wouldn't be able to upgrade to HotS.

To be honest, 100USD or 120USD is quite a bite on the wallet if you didn't already have WoL.

Waiting for them to release bundle. EU has it for 40 euros which is a bit much for me. If they don't release it on US market, I don't play lo

Actually it's very EXPENSIVE for an expansion. Blizzard is getting overly greedy, they are currently "droning" up for "minerals" without "scouting" and knowing what is going on. In the end the "attack" comes there will be no "army" to fight against it. P/S: This is just an illustration.

I don't think it's overly unreasonable. Neither do I think Blizzard is getting overly greedy. Let me explain.

For comparison:

Call of Duty Black Ops 1. On Steam, this costs USD60. Each of its DLCs costs USD15. What does each DLC give you? 4 multiplayer maps. CoDBO1 released 4 DLCs for a total cost of USD 60.

Call of Duty Black Ops 2 also costs USD 60. Activision (Blizzard's parent company) says they will also release 4 DLCs priced at USD 15 each. But they offer a "season pass" where you pay "only" USD 50 to get all 4 DLCs when they come out.

EA Games' Battlefield 3 costs USD 60, each of its 5 DLCs cost USD 15. Sims3 costs USD 40, and its 11 expansions cost a total of USD 320.

Ubisoft's Rocksmith costs USD 50. All of its DLCs cost a total of USD 370.

CoDBO1 cost a total of USD120. Then 2 years later, they release CoDBO2 so you could spend USD120 again. You just spent USD240 on 2 games and a bunch of maps that 2 or 3 years down the line you won't play anymore, because a sequel will come out. I could say the same thing about BF3.

Circa 2016. SC2 Legacy of the Void expansion comes out. I will have already spent USD 180 for the whole SC2 series. But this is one of those games that I know I will be playing until SC3 comes out in.. well, 2030 probably. Heck, I still play SCBW with my brothers and cousins!

Blizzard has really built up on the success of SCBW and they know that nothing can replace StarCraft as THE RTS game for the competitive scene. Meanwhile, I don't see (or at least, know of) a competitive scene for CoDBO2 and BF3.

So yeah. This game will cost me USD180. But I know I will play it for a loooong time, and I know Blizzard will continue to support it because it has an active professional scene and a very large community following.

Blizzard just has to step up in regard to game balance. But that's a different topic altogether.

Just my two cents.

With the announcement of global play, Blizzard doesn't need to sell a separate HotS upgrade for SEA accounts. HotS will be like Diablo3 where there will be only 3 servers: Americas (which includes SEA), Europe and Asia (China/Korea/Taiwan). Just like Diablo3, HotS will allow you to switch between each server, technically giving you an account per server.

So yeah, you could say that global play for HotS (and WoL) will merge SEA and NA (but doing away with the SEA distinction).

Not too bad really.

I get smoother performance in NA and the lag is "almost" negligible.

In SEA, I still get occasional stutters.

Try playing a custom game in NA and you'll know.
