It is very well-padded and is big enough to accommodate a small-to-medium size DSLR with a 17-50mm f/2.8 zoom lens attached, yet still with enough rooms left for even a medium-size prime lens and a good-size strobe and a tripod or monopod to boot! (see picture here and User's Review here).

In the upper compartment, there is also spare space for oddments such as spare strobe batteries, battery chargers, Joby Gorillapod, Lenspen, air blower, filters, etc.
