Btw that fiesta pic you posted is only 2 doors. Malaysia Fiestas have 4 doors.

Essentially the same car both of them But the Ford has better level of kit as compared to the Mazda. Go for the Ford

those two car are basically the same car,

one is the more flamboyant american educated sister,

the other one is the more conservative japanese educated sister.

In the short term, both brand offer 3 years free maintenance, although Ford offer 5 years warranty.

Parts availability, I know Ford fares kinda poor in this department when it comes to major parts. Not sure about Mazda.

I have test driven both cars, Fiesta S wins my vote simply because it is just much more fun to drive. Besides, I hate the M2s auto gearstick that hangs below the dashboard like the new Myvi, instead of on the floor.

the 2 and the fiesta has the same chassis and equal driving enjoyment

the different is the fiesta has more airbag compared to the 2

the fiesta has ESP compared to the 2 which has none (malaysian should really boycott japanese manufacturer who refuse to offer ESP in their model lineup)

the fiesta has more sophisticated 6 speed dual-clutch transmission compared to the 2 archaic 4 speeder automatic

the fiesta offer bluetooth and voice control but the 2 does not

for the price the most expensive fiesta is RM84,888 compared to the most expensive 2 RM82,322, but with differences around RM2k you get more gizmo and stuff that even RM140k japanese doesn't offer! I call that a damn good value.

lastly... i personally found that fiesta styling is sexier inside out compared to the 2...

ford fiesta, my wife has been driving one year, she enjoy so much. chassis n performance is the best in it's class!!!!

if you put ford focus or mazda 3, I will vote mazda 3 for personal reasons.
