QUOTE(Everdying @ Mar 10 2013, 07:31 PM) mido have one if not the cheapest COSC watch in the market. there is also the famed tissot le locle...around the low 3k range after discount. http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/a-week-on-the...cle-chronometre I'm sorry to have to say this, but if your number one priority when buying a mechanical watch is "accuracy", you're buying it for the wrong reason. Especially when the title of "most accurate" is awarded by a voluntary entry competition that most manufactures don't even bother to enter - only 19 participants out of ALL the watchmakers in the world entered in Tissot's category - "business" - classic. Buying the "most accurate" mechanical watch as per COSC is (to reuse your analogy) like buying the "fastest" horse drawn buggy in a 5 buggy race at your state fair. It's an exercise in pointlessness. You buy a horse drawn buggy as opposed to a Ford Focus not because you're interested in speed as determined by fundamentally flawed competitions, but because you're interested in the view you get when you slow down, and the horse drawn buggy experience. You buy, or at least should buy, a mechanical watch for a host of other reasons that should be at least as important as accuracy - respect for the tradition of mechanical watches, a fascination with mechanical objects that are relatively accurate despite everything you know about physics saying that they shouldn't, a respect for the watchmakers' skill, the successful marriage of art to craft when a movement is finely finished, etc. |

Hi guys, for Seamaster and Nomos in same price range.
Which will you choose? But if compare Tissot and Nomos (which is double to triple the price of Tissot) which one you will choose? Actually both seems very light weight and a bit fragile.. If compare with Seamaster. This post has been edited by InF.anime: Mar 11 2013, 04:58 AM |

QUOTE(deriku @ Mar 13 2013, 09:32 PM) Copy from somewhere which I think it's quite make sense. Mechanical is not meant for accuracy, quartz is the better option for that purpose. Unless you can afford a tourbillon. COSC is jus another gimmick in lux watch market. This post has been edited by InF.anime: Mar 13 2013, 10:00 PM |

Why the Speedmater is manual-winding instead of auto?
i thought auto is better why they still using hand winding? hand winding also can be damage if not using it carefully, so its like less durable? |
