I saw MG 1/100 kits selling at Yodobashi for about 1700 yen the other day after discount. That's less than RM60 a pop.

dunno if this is news here yet, but it looks like Bandai is releasing a 1/35 scale model series soon, focusing on the on-the-ground/grunt-level view of things. I don't think you will get to see entire mobile suits at this scale, but if you dig 1/35 scale military dioramas, this could be your thing:

QUOTE(StormV @ Jun 26 2006, 12:00 AM) i think this is more on military genre and diorama. It look real cool, but really need some military modeling skill to make it look nice. I foresee all sorts of kitbashes and mixing & matching with tamiya model sets. IIRC, the Patlabor MG series is also in 1/35 scale...Yeah, this will be really cool. but the zaku head is cool~ |

QUOTE(Godevil @ Jul 22 2006, 07:57 PM) umm...because there is a huge market made up of nostalgic, well-heeled, free-spending older generation otaku? We don't see any rich japanese millionaire wanting to cosplay as Kira Yamato in outer space, do we? The CE demographic is probably younger I think, but I'm sure Bandai'll get around to selling one of those eventually... |
