I think it's a matter of preference. It really doesnt matter. Like what infested says, black if you want your kit to look like the anime. Gray if you want it to look more realistic.

On another note...look what I got off Dark Lynx's hands:

hmm..well although it is obvious, but painting and touching up with marker (is almost mandatory for gundam fans rclxms.gif ) is indeed two different thing, in the example u provided it isn't really a paint job sweat.gif
most of us here touch up with marker, more 'hardcore' paint job are with airbrush or spray (shown alot in dannychoo.com) are for further 'customizing' the gundam look
example umm..

sabar la, perhaps after i get one web cam,,, i will show my gundams keke
i oso got a set of colour markers (damn expensive cry.gif ) to colour those extra touch
now i only lined my sd impulse and blue frame, it looks damn neat with lined markers rclxms.gif , alot of trial and error but thats the fun part

i have 7 PG kits built over the time and still one unopened box...
with MG i'd probably built about 20+ though half of them were given away and currently have about 10 MG plus 8 new MG kits

i'd say quality over quantity he he
*
hmm..7 pg..roughly each rm 600.. rm4200 ...
if mg..average rm200 ea ...i could get...21 of em rclxm9.gif
haven't count the painting materials rclxub.gif
as a gundam collector..i think theres juz too many to collect..so i go for quantity tongue.gif

hi guys,

i'm really interested to build a mecha myself.
if i buy an MG kit,
does it requires paint jobs?
if it does, how much painting jobs that will it requires?
and how much do u think i'm gonna spend for the paint/marker?

Thanks for answering my questions..
Hopefully will be able to join u guys soon.. smile.gif
*
hey there
if u browse around www.hlj.com u will see each model has a specs indicated whether painting is mandatory and skill level required. For starters, most MG doesn't need painting. Of course u need to enjoy the process of model making so grab yourself some panel markers and touch up the kit yourself. Most people paint job on their PG which is really cool if properly done but for starters, an MG will non-painted is good enough. It won't hurt to paint later when you learn more details and technique with each new kit thumbup.gif
