hmm..well although it is obvious, but painting and touching up with marker (is almost mandatory for gundam fans ) is indeed two different thing, in the example u provided it isn't really a paint job
most of us here touch up with marker, more 'hardcore' paint job are with airbrush or spray (shown alot in dannychoo.com) are for further 'customizing' the gundam look

aiya, i oso wanted to show la keke...but no web cam now
sabar la, perhaps after i get one web cam,,, i will show my gundams keke
i oso got a set of colour markers (damn expensive ) to colour those extra touch
now i only lined my sd impulse and blue frame, it looks damn neat with lined markers , alot of trial and error but thats the fun part

i wanna see a diorama of sword impulse and ur ichigo 100% set

hmm...but as far as i know..if you don't plan first before snap fitting...it will be very hard to paint it later
i even have trouble lining certain parts sometimes, don't even mention bout painting it

as a gundam collector..i think theres juz too many to collect..so i go for quantity

if u browse around www.hlj.com u will see each model has a specs indicated whether painting is mandatory and skill level required. For starters, most MG doesn't need painting. Of course u need to enjoy the process of model making so grab yourself some panel markers and touch up the kit yourself. Most people paint job on their PG which is really cool if properly done but for starters, an MG will non-painted is good enough. It won't hurt to paint later when you learn more details and technique with each new kit
